zig-a-zig-ah! (zzh, for short) is the original "USB stick" form-factor development board for TI's new generation CC2652R chips.

It features:

  • TI CC2652R 2.4 GHz multi-protocol wireless microcontroller targeting Thread, Zigbee, Bluetooth 5 Low Energy, IEEE 802.15.4g, IPv6-enabled smart objects (6LoWPAN) and proprietary systems
  • Communicates with the host computer via the common CH340 USB-UART bridge, no manual driver installation needed in most cases (Windows and Linux)
  • Self-programming via the TI CC-series serial bootloader. As long as it is not explicitly disabled in code, no external programmer needed! Pushbutton on the default pin to trigger this mode
  • cJTAG debug header, in case you disable BSL by accident or want a proper debug interface
  • SMA antenna port for an external antenna of your choice
  • General purpose LED

Think of it as an upgrade to the ubiquitous CC2531 USB Sticks commonly used for Zigbee tinkering. CC2652 has a much beefier processor, more memory and a sane free compiler that should enable easier development compared to the old 8051 based CC2530/1 devices.

A portion of each sale will be donated to @Koenkk to support his work on Zigbee2mqtt and the public firmware images used by zzh and many other projects.

What is included?

Each order contains a fully assembled and tested PCBA along with a plastic enclosure and a small antenna. An optional debug adapter kit of parts (requires assembly) can also be purchased. Please refer to the listing photos.

Important Note

Please keep in mind that zzh is a general purpose development board. It is shipped with a simple test program that just blinks the LED on and off (with no radio functionality) to verify that the MCU is running. You will need to program it before it does anything meaningful. Given the application dependent nature of this board, limited after-sales support can be provided (For example: we can help you program this board but can't fix your Zigbee network range issues or offer specific software support).

Documentation and Design Files

Documentation and a "User Manual" for zzh can be found on the project page and design files in the Github repository.

Perfect stick to stick with it!

I advise to everyone start with this on Zigbee path. It is nice looking with okay antenne. Firmware upload was easily manageable. Fast shipment and great product.

Iwan | May 13, 2022

Great product

Have been using this stick for quite some time and worked reliably. I will purchase again from this seller.

Aleksandr | Oct. 24, 2021

Awesome!

Everything is fine, thanks. Works very stable and I use that with zigbee2mqtt and homeassistant. Thanks.

Yoav | Oct. 14, 2021

Works great easy to set for z2mqtt and HA

It works very well with 37+ devices, firmware flashing was very easy, documentation is very good and simple, though I only needed the basic use case for z2mqtt with HA.
Communication was also very good, and very responsive. I had a problem with tracking the item and not receiving it, and got it resent to me without any problems.

Total control over ZigBee devices

With Electrolama CC2652R I can control all my ZigBee devices and mix them together as I want. IKEA switches that command Sonoff WiFi relay - easy! Just add Node-red or Home assistant and make whatever scenario you want

The tool you want to have for your Smart Home

Like many of you, you have a reason to come here. I started out with a CC2531. It worked and because of it has been modified with an external antenna, I had no connection problems. However, after my network grow bigger when adding more devices, I became suspicious. Even having great lqi, messages got lost, switches did not react etc. I added more routers, but this was not the problem. Digging down into the configuration of zigbee2mqtt you will find a setting "adapter_concurrent" which reads "configure adapter concurrency (e.g. 2 for CC2531 or 16 for CC26X2R1)". OK, this is where I understood I had a problem. With only two messages which can be processed in parallel, after scaling well beyond 50 devices in my network it had collisions more often than I was thinking. Checking even more, you get an other detail: The CC2531 can handle 20 Zigbee version 3.0 devices. OK, since all my stuff was quite new, I well exceeded this limit. The CC2652R is able to handle 100, which should be enough for some time. Immediately ordering this stick, switching it out and all my problems were resolved. No lost messages, lqi improved (not much, but more stable at high levels). If you started to become frustrated with your CC2531, you are at the right place.

Significant upgrade

Used the older technology cc2531 stick from sonof before upgrading to this zigbee stick.

Much faster response time. Pairing as well as latency when controlled via zigbee to mqtt and node red on raspberry pi 4.

Signal strenght also much improved. I have the stick plugged into the PI directly. I am sure that I will get an even better signal strength if I connect the stick with a usb extender cable and place it further away from the PI.

Installation was easy if you just follow all the links provided to the relevant sites.

Took my time to migrate my network. All went well with ZtMQTT, but had some pain with node red that wanted me to run ZTMQTT in legacy mode.

Stephen | Sept. 23, 2021

Works perfectly

I have the stick configured with zigbee2mqtt running under Ubuntu, it is far more responsive than the CC2538 + CC2592 I had previously.

The website however is not well maintained, the links to the Windows drivers for flashing on windows dont work, and the stick is not automatically detected
The link to the firmware is out of date, although I managed to find the right one on Github
The linked python script for flashing works perfectly.

You need a better option for shipping than Royal Mail to Australia.

Stephen James | Sept. 23, 2021

Legit review from an Aussie

Flashing process worked flawlessly. Plugged it into my Home Assistant server (pi4) and after a reboot worked straight away.

I had a CC2531 which would randomly become corrupt and could only achieve a max link quality of 50 or less.

This stick however has a minimum link quality of 50 for my furthest zigbee device 👌 😎

Very happy and will buy more if I ever need to.

Thanks!

Arriving in Japan in 10 days

I bought it on August 16, shipped it on August 19, and received it today, August 26, in Japan.

The firmware flashing was very easy and took only a few steps and I was able to start using it right away.

I've been running a Zigbee network with a ZHA and a hacked TYGWZ-01, but I've been having problems with the IKEA Symfonisk Controller not working properly.
To solve this compatibility problem, I added Zzh! and Zigbee2MQTT environment, and now it works stably.

Jeremy | Aug. 17, 2021

Great little stick

I dig this little guy. It painlessly integrates with Zigbee Home Automation with HomeAssistant - after flashing it with the correct firmware, that is. Don’t let the flashing LED fool you - read the FAQ and make sure you flash the stick before trying to use it.

Zigbee integration with my home has been great!

Martin | July 21, 2021

Excellent product

Bought this despite never having used Python previously. I followed the instructions very carefully – checking and double checking as I proceeded. At the end, after about 15 minutes, I achieved a working Zigbee communicator on my Home Assistant, which I am still setting up. It communicates with all my rad vales, even the one I put in the refrigerator as a test!

Johannes | July 20, 2021

Excellent, replaced Ikea Tradfri hub in 20 minutes.

Excellent product.
Great documentation.
Great price for what you get, really.
Fast shipping.

Works so seamlessly instead of the Ikea Tradfri hub and SO MUCH better and faster than it ever did.

10 of 10 points, would buy again!

Using this with Node-Red and self-made flow to control 6 Ikea Tradfri power outlets. Now I can mix and match with other vendors.
No more issues after a forced update from Ikea for the hub.

Tip, as I found out by accident: Zigbee2MQTT has an >amazing< webserver built in.

Coen | July 10, 2021

Set-and-forget Zigbee stick

The ZZh is a robust solution for your Zigbee network. Literally the bedrock of my HomeAssistant smarthome system, enabling the Hue lights, Osram smart plugs, Aqara sensors and a couple of dimmers. I run it with Zigbee2MQTT which has proven to be flawless in its execution and keeps getting better with every update. Omar is a stand-up guy that I highly recommend buying from.

Danial | July 3, 2021

Great little stick

Arrived much quicker than I thought, setting it up was straightforward but it does require some technical knowledge to get it up and running. After setup, its been working with Home Assistant with no issues! Would totally recommend!

Steve | July 1, 2021

CC2652R Multiprotocol RF Stick Works Great

Working great with my Pi 4 and Domoticz. I also installed Home Bridge and now my phone and ipod mini controls the Zigbee motion detectors and other Zigbee devices. Flashing the firmware was easy but downloading the TI software that does the flashing was a pain.

I | June 29, 2021

So much better than the Chinese clones!

I started out with Zigbee2MQTT together with a bunch of those cheap Chinese CC2531 sticks. After a couple of weeks, the cheap CC2531 all of a sudden stop working and I had to reflash them or simple use another one to get my smart home stuff working again. Either their firmware got corrupted (I shut the whole system down every night because I don't want the wireless stuff polluting my sleeping space) after shutdown, or the device simple would stop responding over USB. After going through this loop a couple of times, I got fed up with it and ordered the zzh! CC2652R Multiprotocol RF Stick. Took the cheapest shipping method (Royal Mail) and it only took a week to Austria.
After 2 months of operation, the CC2652R is still running, WITHOUT any of the problems I had with the cheap CC2531 sticks so I'd say it's more than worth the price! The range is also wayyyy better than any of the cheap sticks with the external antenna.

David | June 29, 2021

Perfect :-)

I got as a zigbee coordinator on a Raspberry pi 3 (using zigbee2mqtt). It works way better than the CC2531 I was using before that (signal was not powerful enough). Shipping was fast a well protected as well.

Jovan | June 29, 2021

Great product, friendly staff

The product arrived on time, the package could have been bulkier (maybe more padding) but nevertheless, all was in place, no problems with the product. I followed the instructions, installed the drivers, flashed the firmware (great documentation from Electrolama) and everything is up and running in less than 10 minutes. I will need few additional weeks to test the range and stability of the product.

Rogier | June 29, 2021

Works as it should

Stick works as it should, shipment was actually quicker than expected! And my wife loves the sticker ;)

Tim | June 28, 2021

Great range compared to a previous generic version from eBay

Didn't realise I had to flash it myself which I was hoping to avoid, but in the end figured it out and all working now. Much better range than my previous stick.

Dave | June 28, 2021

Great Product

Being new to the world of Zigbee - I chose this product when wanting to implement zigbee2mqtt - the whole ecosystem is simply awesome and Electrolama are a great provider with a great product. Amazing what you get for the money

Lucy | June 26, 2021

Home assistant power house

I use this with Home Assistant & Zigbee on a small but crowded setup. It just works, including in very harsh conditions.
Flashing was easy enough, a bit convoluted due to TI's software, but patience will fix that.

The plastic case is great. I would've added instructions to not close the case until flashing is done.
The small hole to push the button is so small I had to use a needle. If you don't push exactly straight, there is a risk of damaging the PCB or nearby components.
Mine survived the ordeal with a handful of scratches.
Maybe a bigger hole for a pen tip, or a 'guide' around the hole to avoid pushing on the wrong thing, would make this better.

Everything else is perfect.

Alan | June 26, 2021

Excellent coordinator

Really stable coordinator with a good range. Very easy to configure and such an improvement over the CC2531.

Bas | June 25, 2021

A very solid upgrade to my Zigbee network

I used this stick to replace my simple Zigbee dongle that was reaching its limits for my network and it absolutely works like a charm. Documentation on how to set this up with zigbee2mqtt is excellent and it took me at most 1 hour to migrate everything over to the zzh stick. Since then I have added at least 5 more Zigbee devices to my network and the zzh stick has been working without any issues.

Simon | June 25, 2021

Fantastic Zigbee Co-ordinator

After my CC2531 died out of the blue I wanted something better to replace it. Filling the recommendation from Z2M I ended up looking at the ZZH and I'm glad I did. My network is far faster than before and the signal strength is a lot stronger. Really pleased.

Only criticism I have is that the dispatch could have been quicker, but it wasn't overly excessive.

Matt | June 24, 2021

Works perfectly

Connected this to Home Assistant and it has worked flawlessly. I have Hue bulbs, Hue dimmers, Aqara sensors, IKEA sensors, and an IKEA repeater on the network and it works great.

Budiman | June 24, 2021

Perfect Replacement for CC2531

I have a lot of problems with CC2531 requiring me to re-pair a lot of my devices regularly. After using zzh for 2 weeks, there is no problem and so far so good. Although I expected the signal to be far better than it is right now (about 20% better LQi than CC2531). I contacted the seller by email and their communication is very good.

D | June 21, 2021

Great product, seller and documentation

Got exactly what was sold.

Seller responded to a question within 30m after business hours in the UK.
How to flash with what firmware and what non default settings needed for zigbee2mqtt were made available on the sellers site.

Mathew | June 19, 2021

This isn't a product review!

You don't need a product review, you already know the product is awesome (just look at all of those stars!), you can safely buy it with no regrets!. What I want to talk about is the amazing support and service I got from Electrolama.

I ordered a few weeks back, and was contacted by Electrolama shortly afterward to let me know that there was a problem with my postal address, I updated the address accordingly (or so I thought) and it was shipped off, I got my tracking number the next day. So far, awesome! ..

A couple of weeks later it arrived in my country, well within expected delivery times, and then it just sort of sat there. After a few days I started wondering what was going on, which is when I noticed in my tracking info email... I had put the wrong address details... AGAIN!

After a bit of messing around trying to fix it myself, I contacted Electrolama about it and got almost immediate responses back. Electrolama went through and contacted the places that needed to be contacted to fix the issue; They kept me notified with multiple emails of everything that was going on (as it turns out it's not especially easy to change an address on an international package already in transit when multiple carriers are involved). I received my ZZH within just a few days of asking Electrolama for help.

I always say that you don't know how good a company/store/service is until you see what they do when something goes wrong. While this was completely and totally my own fault, Electrolama went out of their way to assist and assure me throughout. I honestly don't think I can recommend or thank them enough!

Albrecht | June 15, 2021

excellent - a problem solver for IOBroker

Already back in December, I have set up a Pi4 with a 2531-based USB stick and IOBroker - a catastrophy: with that, the zigbee adapter resets in random intervals (between 5min and 2hrs) with crazy log-file entries like "...unhandled promise rejection",...
With the CC2652R and it's configuration via the TI tool as described on Electrolama's website (and after assigning a new PAN-ID in IOBroker), everything works now perfect and reliable from the first second on !
I am more than happy - not a single reset or other issue since I configured the 2652-stick. Great.
A clear recommendation.

Bjoern | June 14, 2021

Perfect for my home automation

Works like a charm and flashing it was as easy as described in the documentation. Thanks to the antenna it does a really good job and it is working perfectly with my zigbee devices for my OpenHab install.

Shipping was also faster than expected.

Robert | June 14, 2021

Very good product!

Bought two pieces and flashed one as coordinator and one as router/extender.

Works flawless with HA and zigbee2mqtt
and improved signal strength compared to CC2531 stick which I have used before.

Leonard | June 14, 2021

Works great

Working right out of the box with Home Assistant (ZHA) on a Raspberry Pi 3b+. Clear improvement in link quality with a number of devices in the network. Shipping was well within the estimated delivery time. Thanks to maker of the board, glad to make use of your knowledge and skill!

Stephen | June 14, 2021

Very happy thanks.

Arrived in reasonable time considering world events.
Works perfectly and seems totally reliable so far. The only glitch I had was that I had to flash it twice to use via zigbee2mqtt. The first time it reported success but clearly hadn't flashed correctly - after flashing again everything worked fine.
It's good to have all my zigbee stuff running totally locally with no cloud dependencies.

Cesar | June 13, 2021

It doesn't work on QNAP NAS

Shiping was Ok and it works after flashing because I tested it on my Windows laptop.
However I'd like to use it on my QNAP NAS and Home Assistant over docker and I can't make it work that way.
What I think is than my NAS doesn't have ch340.ko module instaled and that is why it doesn't appear on /dev/tty* when I plug it. And so I can't use it.
I don't recommend it if you want to use it on a QNAP NAS.

Mikael | June 11, 2021

Great product and documentation

Nothing to complain about, just praise. Everything was crystal clear. Documentation flawless. Very impressed! Great product, very happy with the function. I deeply recommend the whole package.

Telmo | June 9, 2021

Great product, easy setup and fast shipping!

The product arrived in under two weeks, works great, and even got a little electrolama sticker :)
The setup process is really easy, no additional hardware is required, just put the stick in flashing mode and follow the steps on the documentation.
Also, feels great knowing my purchase contributed to the great zigbee2mqtt project.

Christoph | June 8, 2021

all great

Fast shipping, great documentation for an easy setup (no issues at flashing the device as a newcomer) and great performance!

Tiago | June 8, 2021

Delivered next day and does the job!

Got this to replace my old CC2531 which was giving me headaches and it just... works! The instructions on how to flash the proper firmware were clear and easy to follow, the casing is just fine, and it all works just fine. Delivery was next day so... can't get any faster!

Ruel | June 8, 2021

Satisfied buyer

The device works flawlessly in zigbee2mqtt. No drops in connections whatsoever and I am very satisfied with my purchase.

Dominik | June 8, 2021

Works reliably with Zigbee2Mqtt, nice case.

Works reliably with Zigbee2Mqtt, and a nice tight-fit case for it. With a previos CC2531 based adapter I had pinging issues in a Zigbee network of about 10-15 devices, now those are gone and communication works reliably. My device's USB A connector had a little dent after the shipping as it seemds to have gotten squeezed in transport - no big deal, but some sturdier packaging my help. Thanks for making this great device!

Carlos | June 8, 2021

Great product, great delivery

Now I can improve my Home Assistant implementation, thanks for building amazing devices like the ZZH!
I received the order in 5 days (UK to Spain), really amazing considering Brexit and COVID restrictions.

Thanks!!!

Alex | June 7, 2021

perfect quallity

Shipping took 1 week. so pretty fast.
going to use it with zigbee2mqtt. perfect quallity pcb.
going to replace the CC2531 i have right now.

Andrew | June 6, 2021

Perfectly functional as a ZigBee coordinator

It took me about 15 minutes from unpacking, to write the firmware from my Mac, then put the stick into my Home Assistant server and start using it. It's been running well for about a week, without any USB resets like I've seen with other ZigBee solutions on the same hardware. Also, shipping was surprisingly fast, arriving to Canada in about a week.

My only note; unlike my prior stick, which would pair devices but only at short range when plugged directly into the server, with this one I absolutely had to use an extension cable to get anything to pair.

Marius | June 6, 2021

Best Ever

Very fast shipping, easy setup, just a great product and seller. Very happy that I bought this stick.

Valtteri | June 4, 2021

Great stick for Zigbee2MQTT

I was up and running with Zigbee2MQTT within half an hour controlling my vendor I and X lights and sensors. Documentation on flashing the firmware was clear, range is good and I haven't encountered problems with any devices. There were no shipping issues to EU despite potential Brexit hurdles.

Gilian | June 3, 2021

Fantastic replacement for the CC2531!

Had a lot of problems with my CC2531, crashing while trying to connect devices etc.
With this stick and the clear documentation, I had my system running in a very short time.

Using different kinds of Zigbee devices on this stick, running zigbee2mqtt with OpenHAB 3.0.

No problems or disconnections anymore since I'm using this stick.

Anders | June 2, 2021

Perfect

I can only support all the other positive reviews. Quick shipping, clear unambiguous instructions for flashing and an immense upgrade from my CC2531, as the linkquality and reach is extremely good now. I can only recommend warmly..

Claus | June 2, 2021

Works.

I have a simple zigbee network and it has worked fine so far. It reaches all devices in my household, also in places where the wifi from the router is not visible any more.

Ian | May 24, 2021

Neat. Simple. Clear. Works.

New to this corner of tech I ordered this based on the reviews and recommentation of the Zigbee2mqtt site.
Delivery was fast, flashing was easy and setting it up with Home Assisatant was a breeze.
Flashed on macos then running on a Synology NAS with HA in a docker container... Loads of potential barriers to a smoothe ride.
All fine and paired with my first device within an hour (and I was taking it slow).

Stepan Anatolevich | May 24, 2021

Everything was ok.

Delivery in Russia was really fast, after reading the documentation i successfully flashed the stick. It works as expected.

Martin | May 24, 2021

Great Zigbee controller!

There is a clear reason why this Zigbee controller is so recommended. It is easy to use and works well. The instructions on the support website are clear and easy to follow. Keep in mind that just as the description and packaging indicates you have to flash firmware onto it before use. The instructions I followed required Windows.

Hever | May 22, 2021

Very recommended

I bought zzh! after CC2531 and Slaesh's because zzh out of stock in the first time.

zzh definitely better then Slaesh's and CC2531.

if you are missing, sign up for an email that will return to stock

Edwin | May 21, 2021

Works like a charm

My objective was to get rid of my xiaomi hub. And that worked like a charm. The stick arrived within two weeks from ordering from UK to NL. And using the electrolama quick start was easy enough to configure for HA use. Was up and running within 15 minutes end-to-end.

Nitin | May 21, 2021

Perfect for the Zigbee network

I cant compare it with any other RF stick as this is my first one, but it does the job perfectly and til now I haven't had any issues.

Jakob | May 21, 2021

Works as expected

It works just as expected - the setup is a bit tedious, but its well documented and works fine.
If you use a RPI4 or similar, I would highly suggest you buy a usb-extension cable as well. Without it, I had a range of only a few meters - with it, it works even a few rooms over.
Shipping to austria took 2 weeks from order to delivery.

Olivier | May 21, 2021

Perfect

Works like a charm with a Raspi 4 + Zigbee2Mqtt + Nodered. Flashing the dongle is relatively easy (every step is described in the documentation) and doesn't require extra hardware. Also, the external antenna really helps improving the range.

The item itself is well packaged, quickly shipped and this tiny sticker is like the cherry on top.

10/10 would buy again.

Vinod | May 21, 2021

Amazing!

Replaced my Philips Hue Hub and Samsung Smarthings Hub with this and couldn't be happier. A lot more functionality and reliability at fraction of the cost.

Ram | May 21, 2021

Great replacement of proprietary bridges

Installation was easy, stability is great.
I made a shipping address mistake, which was quickly fixed.

Peter | May 20, 2021

Great quality, clear instructions, fast shipping.

ZZH! Is great in every way:
-well designed and quality product
-instructions for flashing are clear, and it is easy
- working well as coordinator or repeater (I use it in both functions)
- stable device, can handle directly more then 70 end-devices
- the range is enormous, can cover a 2-floors house with concrete floors and 40cm thick walls

Ryan | May 20, 2021

Perfect

I've been using the zzh! for over 2 months now and it has been flawless, just works and hasn't let me down yet.

Emmanuel | May 15, 2021

Excellent device

Excellent device, 10x more powerful than basic cc devices, 1 was enough to cover my needs when 3 cc2531 were needed before.
Fast shipping and delivery despite covid issues.

Colin | May 14, 2021

Great product and an easy (for pandemic times) transaction!

Love the range and speed of the zzh! for my zigbee2mqtt-driven Zigbee network :) Super easy to follow the linked directions to install Zigbee coordinator firmware and get myself up and running.

Shipping takes a while, which the seller made very clear up front. Thank you for the honest forewarning in advance so I knew what to expect - but also thanks for shipping my order straightaway after I placed it! The rest of the process is up to the whims of international shipping during a pandemic.

Lee | May 14, 2021

The perfect addition to my OpenHAB setup

Using OpenHAB and Sonoff devices in my home is great, but sometimes you don't want to have to grab a phone and unlock it to turn on lamps that use the plug adaptors, or crawl under furniture to reach the button. This is where the zzh! comes in. Combining it with https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io enables simple use of zigbee buttons to trigger OpenHAB rules for controlling your lights, what's great about this is that the buttons are really low power so can run on a coin cell for years. The range of the zzh! is great too as I've got it running on the ground floor of a 3 story townhouse and the buttons work on the top floor!

If you want to add zigbee to your home automation this is the ideal adaptor for it!

Robert | May 14, 2021

Fantastic stick

Prompt delivery, nicely packaged. The plastic moulding fits perfectly, it comes with an antenna. And best of all the stick works so much better than my previous CC2531. I've got about 40 devices hooked up all working perfectly. I've bought a few of these, one as coordinator and others as routers. Flashing was _fairly_ straight forward (instructions and scripts could be improved but wasn't a huge problem)

Tristan | May 14, 2021

Great and Highly Recommended

Worked straight out of the box with zigbee2mqtt, has been incredibly reliable and the purchase process was smooth. Thanks!

Paul | May 14, 2021

Really reliable device

Ended up buying 2 of these in the end to replace a CC2531. Since upgrading I've had no device dropping off like they were before. I've got it setup with Zstack3 on Home Assistant using ZHA and the other one as a repeater and works really well. The device is really well made and the case fits it like a glove. Highly recommended.

The device works perfectly, fast delivery, the quality of the solder is exelent and although it does not improves the range over the older cc2531, the system is allot more stable. Iwould recomended 100%

Oliver | May 8, 2021

Great little stick

Works great, been using it for a month or so with Homeassistant & Zigbee2MQTT.
My previous CC2531 worked okish for a few weeks then died - this works far better.

Adriano | May 7, 2021

Great!

The stick works perfectly, it is on an RB4 running on zigbee2mqtt. It recognizes more devices than Elelabs running on ZHA (my old one, even slightly faster, but support is nonexistent). Very good, I recommend.

Torsten | May 6, 2021

Good Range easy installation

Using it since weeks flawlessly on iobroker with the zigbee plug-in to control tradfri and hue devices

Jack | May 6, 2021

Great upgrade

I upgraded from a CC2531. The signal quality is vastly improved. I had some stability issues with the CC2531 and the zzh! CC2652R has been rock solid so far. Works very well with Zigbee2Mqtt and Home Assistant. Was very easy to flash using Windows Server 2019 VM on ESXi. Don't hesitate to buy.

Jean-Philippe | May 4, 2021

Perfectly works with Home Assistant

Works perfectly with Home Assistant. I didn't ask more.

Before that, I was using a conbee ii and I got an issue when switching scenes (with 8 zibee lights changes), and some lights didn't get the update. Changin it to zzh fix the issue.

More I will trust more Open Source drivers. Also, zzh seems to be more robust with more elements in the network (even if I do not reach a big network like others).

I intend to use a second zzh at some point with an esp8266 to do a wifi/ZigBee watchdog and monitor that my network works well and always gets access to my home assistant (when I will have time. The idea is to report over ZigBee when wifi doesn't work and vice versa. The check would be regular ZigBee heartbeat from and to HA, same over wifi).

Eric | May 4, 2021

New home assistant user!

New user of HA.. oh boy oh boy what did i open here! Been reading way too much about automation for a few weeks and i created many needs for myself ! One of them was been able to use Zigbee stuff. I just received the zzh! stick to canada and the shipping was very fast! (1 week to montreal). Flashing it with the instructions provided went smooth, HA now see the dongle. I just need to buy some sensors now ! Thanks.

Fabricio | May 1, 2021

Really nice and perfect for my use case

I'm using the zzh with zigbee2mqtt and homebridge to control devices thru HomeKit, the communication is fast and very reliable, it was very easy to use the documentation to flash the stick. I recommend to everyone that want's to use this with a RPi and Homebridge. The shipping from the seller side was very fast, it might get stuck in customs depending on your country, it took me a little bit more than a month to arrive.

Valentin | April 29, 2021

Hassle free

Purchased it as my ticket into ZigBee world. Everything works as expected. Trouble free and reliable.
As I don't have any prior experience I can not compare to other similar products but I'd still say it delivers exceptional value.

Thomas | April 29, 2021

Great work

Keep up the great work and fast delivery, in my case to Germany.
The device works like a charm.
Thank you!

Daniel | April 29, 2021

Worth the upgrade from CC2531

Really worth the upgrade from CC2531. The signal is better and the devices are responding faster.
I'm using it with zigbee2mqtt with more than 25 devices.

Derk | April 27, 2021

Amazing. I love it.

So much better than my old CC2531. With this I could switch again from deconz to zigbee2mqtt. ( ... ).

Guillaume | April 26, 2021

Terrible Shipping

Hello,
really disappointed!
Ordered on April 16 and 10 days later the package is still on its shipping site in London. France is really close to London, less than 800 kms from my home!
At the same time I ordered a SONOFF CC2531 USB Dongle on AliExpress on April 16th in China. It arrived on Saturday, April 24th, which means 9 days to travel 10,000+ kms.
And in 10 days your stick has not even done 10 kms apparently.

Aliexpress : 3€50 -> 10 000kms -> 9 days to home, with free shipping
Tindie : 35€ -> 800 kms -> 10 days to stay on site, waiting what ? with $13.00 for shipping !!!

It's not really serious, and Chinese products and seller seems to be really more efficient than europeans one :-(
And no information that justifies these 10 days of waiting, no information in the tracking either.

Really sorry to have to make this kind of comments but it becomes impossible to defend the European market when we see that the local market is not synonymous with performance and efficiency while we pay a lot of money for it! $13.00 shipping (vs free shipping for aliexpress) for a $30 item (vs 3,5€ for item Sonoff Zigbee2mqtt) !!!

I don't think I'll be ordering from your site again, and I certainly won't be recommending your services either, especially not with the high but not efficient shipping costs.

zzh! CC2652R Multiprotocol RF Stick by Electrolama on Tindie (10)

Response from Electrolama | April 26, 2021

Sorry to hear that your package has not arrived although if you would have gotten in touch with us (support@electrolama.com) we could have figured out what went wrong or sent you a replacement without the need for all this negativity.

We are still in the middle of an active pandemic and postal services are also having to deal with the complexities brought on by Brexit, things are moving a lot slower as a result of this. As you can hopefully appreciate, this is not something we have any control over therefore we have the shipping disclaimer/notice you can see above in the product listing warning potential buyers of the current situation. We deal with a lot of customer tickets on shipping delays and even replacements sent for lost packages, all it takes is a simple email sent to the right channel that is noted everywhere on this page and emails you would have received: support@electrolama.com

Comparing a much older product that comes with subsidised pricing and shipping to what you have purchased here simply because you haven't received your package yet is really not fair. If you are interested in finding a solution to your problem please do reach out with your order number and we will do our best to help you.

Ashley | April 26, 2021

Works perfectly

Followed the linked flashing instructions and it's worked flawlessly since. The cc2531 it replaced constantly had issues, so this is a great upgrade.

Pieter | April 24, 2021

It works!

So there are cheaper stick out there. But the documentation won me over. And u get ik great tiny sticker, wat more do u want.

Mathieu | April 23, 2021

Excellent product!...

International shipping like a charm!... easy to flash, highly recommended!
Using it with zigbee2mqtt with many devices, perfect!

Andy | April 23, 2021

Does the job for me!

I was running Home Assistant on a Raspberry Pi 4 with a Conbee II stick. It was ok but as I increased devices to 30+ it started to get a bit temperamental so I decided to upgrade to one of these mini PC boxes. Got that, installed Debian, Docker and HA Supervised, installed Zigbee2MQTT, plugged the CC2652R in and away it went. Works perfectly in my average sized 3 bed house with 62 devices. I'd definitely recommend this.

Michal | April 22, 2021

Excellent product

I replaced my old stick CC2531 with this new which can communicate with more devices. Now my ZigBee network is more stable and without problems.

Andrzej | April 20, 2021

If you are aiming for the router, pick a different product.

I've bought zzh! to use it as a router, to extend coverage. Before buying even contacted the seller to make sure everything will work, but never got any response.
And guess what, the router functionality is not working. You can flash the firmware without any problem, but the stick will not connect to the existing network, the coordinator does not see it. The problem is already reported on GitHub, but for the last three months, nothing happened ( https://github.com/Koenkk/Z-Stack-firmware/issues/260 ).
So, if you need a stick that will work as a router, look for another product.

Dror | April 20, 2021

Simply works better than all others

Great design.
Best in class reception with the help of the external Antenna.
It is apparent that great detail went into the design of both the electrical and mechanical fixture.
Fully documented to help you get started as quickly and easy as possible.
Nice surprise, the most important part; The Lama sticker :)

Nedelcu | April 20, 2021

Produc is ok

Product seem ok from all points of view except one. I expected LQI of devices to be higher (this can be something related to my zigbee network not sure 100%) however I have to mention that ZHA network with Elelabs was more solid with the same settings I use now for Zigbee2MQTT. Don't get me wrong network works and all is ok except some devices relatively close to coordinator have very low LQI (usually under 20 LQI and sometimes under 10 LQI) that's the only complain. In rest product works great.

Edy | April 20, 2021

great!

Shipment should be as option available (DHL or Fedex) because thru normal post service is very slow also in my country LOL

Ádám | April 20, 2021

Works as intended

I purchased one for Home Assistant.
Documentation was easy to follow, and it works.
My aparment is kinda small 37 m^2, so range was not an issue for me.
Nothing else I can add. :D

Melle | April 19, 2021

What a bliss

I moved from a cc2531 to the Zzh!
Very good move. What a difference.

I am building up the zigbee structure in the house, and I had to reset the cc2531 multiple times per day. Adding devices was barely possible otherwise.

This one, however, I flashed it and plugged it in.. Done.
Works fantastic.

And on a side note, but not unimportant, the build quality of the pcb is excellent.
It not only looks sturdy and well built, but it actually is.

And the tiny sticker. Awesome too.

Thanks guys. Job well done.
I ordered two, just in case, well.. Not necessary.

Cheers, Melle

Victor | April 18, 2021

Works perfectly with Homeassistant

This thing is magic. ZigBee integration with HA "just works".

Flashing was simple and no surprises at all.

Christian | April 17, 2021

Fantastic project

Works like a charm - thanks to the perfect documentation and the nice hardware.
It was really fun to setup my RaspberryPi with this stick and controlling lamps and powerplugs via mqtt.

Adrien | April 15, 2021

Awesome tool!

I bought the stick for some Zigbee tinkering and I couldn't be happier. The stability is perfect, the range is more than good, and I even got a little llama sticker with it :)

Paul | April 13, 2021

Excellent kit

Bought as upgrade from cc2351, used with Home Assistant installed on a Pi4 and used with Zigbee2MQTT.

Pros:
- simple to flash
- much more stable on my system than the cc2531
- small size
- Responsive support from vendor.

Cons
- reconnecting ZigBee devices has been a challenge. Not sure if this is a zzh! issue, or may have been better with the ZHA integration in HA rather than Z2MQTT. Could also be a ZigBee protocol issue. My advice is to keep trying and you'll get there eventually. Seened to work more reliably after rebooting the pi after each device connected, but that might just be me.

- there's a LED on the board but is not used in normal operation. I expected it to show an "on" state so was a bit surprised it didn't.

- needs a free TI installer that requires registration. Small issue but it took longer than expected to sort this bit.

TL;dr: a define improvement on the CC2531. Easy to flash, and stable when running. Takes some time to re-pair devices. Would recommend as a step up or initial purchase for anyone using Home Assistant.

Jeff | April 13, 2021

Quick service, good product, easily programmed, reliable

Arrived quickly. I bought it as a more capable update to the standard cc2531 running on a Pi4, I found it very easy to programme the unit for use with HomeAssistant using the TI programmer solution. Works fine, no problems.

Sam | April 13, 2021

Excellent product and service

Excellent product and service.
Quickly delivered and works as advertised and expected (purchased based on HA recommendation).

Håkan | April 13, 2021

Works really well

Zzh! + zigbee2mqtt and some IKEA and aqara units.
A bit difficult to pair IKEA units. This seem to be a zigbee2mqtt problem.
Works very well otherwise !

Delivery to Sweden was rather slow (~ a month). This is due to our privatized and dysfunctional postal service (postnord) and the customs office in Sweden.

Laurent | April 13, 2021

Can not use on my config

Hi,

Product Okay, working well when working alone (no other USB stick).

In my case, on my domotic box I get, RFL link, Zwave, mysensors, and zigbee.

Zigbee is okay with cc2531 But not with my zzh!.

Port unusable , symlink goes wrong because ATTRS{idVendor}, ATTRS{idProduct} is already the same than my RFlink.

Vladimir | April 13, 2021

Good stuff

Flashed as described in manuals. Device works as expected.
Documentation is very good too. Thanks!

Niko | April 13, 2021

Works great, no problems with HA+Zigbee2MQTT with zzh!

All in all zzh! has been working perfectly while using it as a Zigbee coordinator with HA.

Documentation was well made for easy flashing and setting up.

Pedro | April 13, 2021

Amazing product. Works perfectly!

No problem at all migrating 30 devices from CC2531 in Home Assistant with zigbee2mqtt.
Recomended! Communication with seller was good too.

Jon | April 7, 2021

Works great out of the box

Great work on ZZH! Replaced my CC2531 and it's much better. Overall I'm really happy with the results. Shipping was also very fast. I would highly recommend

Saad | April 5, 2021

Everything is good

Shipped in a timely manner, everything works good
Took a month to come in morocco but it’s alright
Used as a router

Edit : ordered a second one, shipped quickly and flashed in less than 5 minutes thanks to good documentation

Super

Tim | April 2, 2021

Great!

I wanted to migrate my Home Assistant stuff from RPi4 with ConbeeII to NUC Proxmox with some experimental stuff because some excotic zigbee hardware was not supported by conbeeII.

Stumbled on a reddit thread about zzh! in comparison to a cc2531 stick and finally ordered zzh.

Installation is easy peasy (10 min), but not for registering at TI site.. :( And had some problem with zzh! stick on nuc with proxmox: no show up in HA. Then i used not a USB 3.0 port, instead my single USB 2.0 port et voila zzh! was possible to install in HA via proxmox.

Great done.

Marek | April 2, 2021

Very good Stick!

The shipment arrived very quickly. Product documentation is very good for me. 10 minutes and everything was ready to go :) Range and speed of operation excellent. I definitely recommend.

Edward | March 29, 2021

High quality zigbee 3.0

Thanks to Omer Kilic for making this high quality and fairly-priced CC2652R stick available. Paired with the fantastic work by Koen Kanters with firmware and zigbee2mqtt gives us mere mortals a fighting chance with making zigbee and mqtt as flexible and universal as they should be rather than artificially constrained by various manufacturers.

I have no previous experience with zigbee devices to compare to, but this stick just works and does so reliably. I'm also surprised by the range, even with only 1 zigbee device (so no mesh helping). Excellent documentation to help flash the firmware. I just plugged it into my small NAS server, which is always on, loaded up zigbee2mqtt and it's just worked reliably since. Devices paired up quickly and easily.

I would and will recommend to anyone who is interested.

Akin | March 26, 2021

Great Product, Fast Shipping

Ships very fast, product is great and documentation is also good. Works like a charm with zigbee2mqtt. Very good range. Definitely recommended.

Adrian | March 25, 2021

Wonderful product!

Totally wasn't disappointed. I bought it with the intention to use it with Zigbee2MQTT and specifically chose this one out of the two recommended ones because I like the "style". Who can't trust a Lama?
Documentation is well; as a first-timer I needed some round trips but I already PR'd them on the documentation, so that's totally fine.

Jeffrey | March 22, 2021

Great device, well worth the money

I purchased this to replace my CC2531 Zigbee Radio that I was using in Home Assistant (ZHA). Soon after flashing it and installing it on my instance, I immediately noticed a huge speed increase as well as a better range. Pairing devices on the old CC2531 took multiple minutes along with added frustration and with the ZZH, it paired in merely seconds after initiating the pair on the device.

From the UK to the US, it arrived in only six days after shipping which was a huge plus as well. Definitely would recommend this device to anyone looking for a great Zigbee radio.

Cas | March 22, 2021

Great product for integrating zigbee in your home automation

* Quickly shipped (no custom tax due to low price, note UK is outside EU)
* Small form factor
* Clear documentation
* Works great with zigbee2mqtt and Domotoicz

Thanks for your great work!

Stephen | March 20, 2021

Nice build quality, very professional.

Very stable with good signal quality.

The build quality of the item is very professional.

With the CC2562 chip it can handle all of my many ZigBee devices without any problem at all.

Good value for money,
I can heartedly recommend.

Paavo | March 17, 2021

Works like a charm!

Flashing the dongle according to the instructions was super easy and it works without a hitch with Zigbee2MQTT. I'm super happy with it. The order was processed without delay and the seller even sent a pic-as-proof of the drop to Royal Mail.

Nicolas | March 12, 2021

Everything perfect

The product is well packed, amazing quality, paired all my devices easily replacing an old cc2531. LQI from all devices is much better now. Flashing was super easy, just pressing a button in the stick and done.

Tim | March 11, 2021

Used for a homeassisstant project

The instructions are clear, so flashing with the appropriate image was a straightforward process. The seller has taken time to curate the various instructions - the important thing is to read everything before diving in.
This was my first introduction to this site - so a good first impression.

Great Zigbee-stick!

Replaced my old 2531 with this one. Now 2652 lives on the first floor of our house. Flashed 2531 as a router and placed it on the second floor, now house has 100% coverage with decent link quality.

Sven | Feb. 26, 2021

Everything works and nothing to complain

The stick is working perfectly as my ZigBee coordinator. I flashed the firmware as documented on the website and had no problems. A later update of the firmware was no problem, too. At the moment, I have 14 devices connected and haven't encountered any issues. It is a top product!

Ashwin | Feb. 26, 2021

Very steady and works as expected

Was promptly shipped and it is stable with good range. No issues getting almost 30 devices online with it

for others who maybe ordering from India - delivered locally by India Post - no duty was levied and clearance was quick.

Dennis | Feb. 26, 2021

Great working Zigbee coordinator

Used a CC2531 and had a lot of trouble with instability. Now running this zzh! everything runs pretty darn smooth.

The zzh! came nicely packed, including a case. No need to use any firmware flashing equipment, installation is straight forward and well documented. Had to do a little bit of reconfiguration in Zigbee2MQTT, reconnect my devices, and never had to look at it since. Great job!

Robert | Feb. 26, 2021

Works great with Zigbee2MQTT

Replaced my Hubitat with the CC2652R stick hooked up to a Raspberry Pi running Zigbee2MQTT and integrated with Home Assistant. Been working great so far.

Bastiaan | Feb. 26, 2021

Works great

Fast delivery and the zzh works as intended :) I have it working on my desk now. Thank you for making this product

Aaron | Feb. 26, 2021

Great product, works well, comes with a fun sticker :D

I'm using this item with Zigbee2MQTT in conjunction with Home Assistant. I'm using a variety of largely IKEA and Sonoff Zigbee devices with these dongles - two are configured as routers and one is a coordinator. It was very quick to get them operational and they have greatly expanded the range and reliability of my home Zigbee network. Excellent purchase. Thanks!

Carlos | Feb. 26, 2021

Nice piece that zzh!!!

Although I have to recognize I experienced some problems with a raspi, in the end I managed to install it in a docker container. Runs like a charm!

Arnaud | Feb. 26, 2021

Top

Work perfectly with zigbee2mqtt. I had some trouble to flash the device because I didn't read well the documentation.

Daniel | Feb. 21, 2021

Superb

Bought to provide a raspberry pi running home assistant with zigbee functionality. Simple to set up with the documentation online for someone with relatively little experience in this area and works perfectly. Great stuff!

Nikolay | Feb. 19, 2021

Happy overall

Took more time to receive it then expected, but i guess its understandable in the current situation. I brought the stick for replacement of the CC2531 which are used for quite some time, initially i do not have any complains with CC2531, but after adding more devices to the network i start to have issues - disconnecting from network and need to repair in order to fix, slow response quite often .. . Now (about a week of use ) with CC2652R all seems to work quite good, no complains at all, hopefully will stay that way :). Overall i happy with the buy, recommended for larger network of devices. Thanks!

Tom | Feb. 18, 2021

Have not received the product

I was asked to review the product but it has not arrived yet. I guess I would be able to give a more informed review when it arrives.

Jeremy | Feb. 17, 2021

Works great, as expected.

Zigbee network seems to respond faster with this new stick. Also supports a lot more devices that my initial cheap stick. Happy with communications from the seller and glad that people are taking the time to make and ship these products so I don't have to get up and use my analog light switches like I did way back in 2018

Replacement of cc2531

Jimmy | Feb. 16, 2021

Using with Zigbee2mqtt

Using with Zigbee2mqtt, works like a dream! Good range and relatively straightforward to set up. working well with HA/Zigbee2mqtt set up

Gabor | Feb. 15, 2021

Perfect product, perfect experience

Bought it as a replacement of a ConBee 2. The zzh! is a lot better than the nightmare with the bloated deCONZ bullsh*t.
The documentation is pretty straightforward and the "customer experience" (shipping, handling, everything) was absolutely perfect.

Joakim | Feb. 13, 2021

Good value! Works great!

I have been using zzh! from around august 2020. I could not be more pleased with this device. Super stable and good rf coverage.
I was one of the unlucky buyers in june 2020 who received a unit from a broken batch, but when it was replaced with a new device a while later all was as good as expected.
Excellent communcation from seller and nice documentation on flashing etc.
I plan on buing one more zzh! for my parents as soon as the store opens up again.

Andreas | Feb. 13, 2021

Great product

Works great as a coordinator for Zigbee2MQTT, big improvement over the old CC2531 with 40-50 devices on the network. Stick look&feel is very good and professional. Shipping was fast.

Klemen | Feb. 11, 2021

Fast shipping, good support

I got a prompt support with answers when I flashed it with wrong firmware and locked the bootloader. Luckily I had the programmer so I was able to unlock it. The stick is now working great for a few months with RPi3 and HA via zigbee2mqtt. No problems at all. Good range. Will probably buy another one for additional experimenting.

Jan-Tore | Feb. 8, 2021

Does what is says on the tin!

Currently using it with Home Assistants ZHA implementation and it is working surprisingly well.
Less latency than going zigbee2mqtt/hue hub <-> ha route. :)

Kari | Feb. 7, 2021

Useless

The device is unusable with zigbee2mqtt. To get that stick started up proberly takes at least 2 hours while waiting moon phase to hit correct spot.. or something. It just always gives this error "(Error: SRSP - SYS - ping after 6000ms)".

Just want to warn that this device is not suitable to use with homeassistant + zigbee2mqtt.

zzh! CC2652R Multiprotocol RF Stick by Electrolama on Tindie (11)

Response from Electrolama | Feb. 7, 2021

Hi Kari,

Sorry to hear that you're having problems. We could have tried solving this over emails if you got in touch, shame you decided to leave a negative review instead.

I've developed this stick to be used with zigbee2mqtt (and Home Assistant) specifically as that is what I am running for my setup here. As far as I can tell the majority of all customers are indeed using the same combination of hardware and software for their setups as well (see reviews below). Therefore, your warning is not accurate.

If you're interested in finding a solution to your problem, feel free to email support@electrolama.com.

Tom | Feb. 7, 2021

Great little USB stick

Great little device, great communications and quick postage.
Not having used any of the zigbee USB sticks before I managed to get this up and running with Home Assistant and Zigbee2mqtt within a couple of hours (would probably have been quicker if I wasn't working on multiple things at the same time).
Would definitely recommend and buy again.

Fred | Feb. 2, 2021

A great little ZigBee stick - The Llama is excellent!

Got this to upgrade from a CC5321 which was struggling with my 20-odd devices.
Really well documented, both for custom apps, and for my common use case with Zigbee2mqtt and Home Assistant; setup took just a few minutes and it's running very smoothly.

Dror | Jan. 28, 2021

Excellent dongle!

I've been using a CC2531 for a while now, ever since moving away from SmartThings, and the dongle was a huge headache, with devices dropping from the grid, and repeated need to disconnect and reconnect in order to permit join.
Ever since I moved to the CC2652R, all my troubles are gone. All 18 devices are constantly connected, including some that misbehaved on SmartThings. Response is also immediate.
A really excellent buy!

Matthew | Jan. 26, 2021

Easy to use, great product

Came quickly and was a breeze to configure and get working. Bought to use with zigbee2mqtt. I had the stock flashed and working basically within 30mins.

And it came with a sticker and sweetie, can't fault the retailer.

Chae | Jan. 25, 2021

perfect.

Cc2531 higher compatible product.
It works very well while using in zigbee2mqtt.
You have applied and sent the inquiries and requests accurately.
Thank you.

So far so good! Zigbee on Home Assistant in Docker

I knew it was small, but didn't quite realise how small until it arrived... it's tiny!

Works perfectly so far. Very impressed.

Am using it for Zigbee in Home Assistant.

1. Plug it into the Raspberry Pi 4 via a USB extension cable as advised, due to interference from the Pi's onboard WiFi
2. Install the Zigbee firmware via commandline on the Pi
3. Install Zigbee2MQTT docker container
4. Install Home Assistant MQTT addon and integration
4. Pair an IoT sensor/device and it magically just appears in Home Assistant

I have zero experience with Zigbee or Zigbee2MQTT and very little experience with Home Assistant but had the whole thing up and running in a couple of hours and now have lights on motion sensors plus a few other types of sensors I purchased recently.

Top job on the ZZH! Thanks.

Jean-Philippe | Jan. 24, 2021

Perfect HomeAssistant ZHA adapter

Bough to replace an old EFR32MG1 adapter I bought couple years back.

This adapter works so much better, better response time from devices using the ZHA integration in HomeAssitant.

Shipping was quick, got it in less than a week from London to France.

Would recommend as the center building block of an HomeAssistant based Hue compatible hub.

Well put together and thought out, arrived very quickly over the holiday period, which h was a bonus.
Would highly recommend this to anyone using Homeassistant with zigbee

Ismo | Jan. 21, 2021

Easy to use product

I got this product and it took me only 15min to get it in use. Documentations are very good and specific.

Alexander | Jan. 21, 2021

Poor signal quality

I received the zzh! CC2652R with some delay, but this was expected and communicated on tindie.com. The device has a poor signal quality. I use the zzh! stick with a Raspberry Pi 4 and I use it with a USB extension cable in 1m distance from the Raspberry. Nevertheless the signal / reception quality is bad. In 5m distance and one wall between (same floor), the signal quality is already at 20, and in 8m distance and 2 walls between (same floor) the signal quality is 0.

I reported this issue twice to the support eMail of Electrolama, but no help/answer since 2 weeks.

zzh! CC2652R Multiprotocol RF Stick by Electrolama on Tindie (12)

Response from Electrolama | Jan. 22, 2021

Hi Alexander, I don't see any open/unanswered tickets about signal quality issues (nothing in our spam folder either). Are you emailing support@electrolama.com?

I don't have any means to get in touch with you here as Tindie reviews just show your comment as "Alexander" with no order number or email attached, if you'd like to get in touch please either send us an email or use the Tindie messaging facility.

Robert | Jan. 20, 2021

Delivered faster than I expected

Shipped at the height of COVID-19 when I was expecting it to take at least a month to reach me in the middle of nowhere.

Solid build quality too!

John | Jan. 20, 2021

Easy to install Zigbee-stick

Easy to install Zigbee-stick for home assistant. Works fine! Shipping was quick. Product was packed well.
Documentation took a bit of reading for a noob :)

Pepijn | Jan. 20, 2021

Using this as a zigbee USB stick voor zigbee2mqtt

I received the product in the expected time and it was packaged well.
I'm using the stick as an upgrade to the cc2531 stick. The zigbee communication is a lot more stable now.
It is very easy to install the right firmware, if you are used to playing around with this kind of stuff 😉

Hugo | Jan. 20, 2021

Excellent

Brought the zzh! to use as a coordinator in my giant Zigbee network. An additional motivation to choose this board is the fact that part of revenue is donated to the owner of the project zigbee2mqtt, the master of universe: Koenkk.

Steve | Jan. 19, 2021

Excellent

A fantastic product. Nicely presented, easy to flash, and I got a free sweet!
Got the to replace my cc2530, as I had far too many items for it to cope, and it was failing constantly. I'm now up to about double the about I had, and the zzh hasn't let me down once. Highly highly recommended.

Andrej | Jan. 18, 2021

Excellent dongle for Zigbee2mqtt

I have been using this dongle for a month now in my Zigbe2mqtt bridge and had no stability issues whatsoever. All my devices were promptly recognized and I can reliably communicate with them.

Marc | Jan. 18, 2021

This stick has been awesome

Using the ZZH with Z2M and its been great. I originally had the Conbee II stick and it was nothing but trouble, now with ZZH, no issues at all.

Lubomir | Jan. 18, 2021

Great product to create zigbee network.

I use zzh as zigbee coordinator. It was easy to flash firmware and use. It has good range for my house which is one floor 13x14 meters, brick walls, concrete ceiling and floor. All devices works fine. One immax light behind several walls needs to use zigbee plug or another bulb as repeater. As I do not want to move coordinator closer to center I am happy with this mesh architecture of zigbee network and that this device supports it. I connected it to tronsmart r28 box running armbian linux, zigbee2mqtt, mosquito mqtt broker and domoticz home automation software. With domoticz I use zzh and rflink to control different zigbee and RF devices. From android phone running termux, python and paho mqtt python module connected to mqtt broker I turn of zigbee plug to stop charging when phone is charged to 85%. I am satisfied with this product.

Wassim | Jan. 18, 2021

Excellent product

Everything runs as expected and described. Flashed the firmware and the device is running on zigbee2mqtt with more and more devices without any issues (currently 25)

Tamas | Jan. 18, 2021

Excellent communication and shipping time.

The stick is also great, no issue with it. I use it with more than 30 zigbee devices with zigbee2mqtt.

Christian | Jan. 16, 2021

All fine

Works as expected. Fast delivery. Easy setup. Proper packaging. Good communication. Everything fine.

François | Jan. 16, 2021

Perfect no issue at all.

Bought it for zigbee 2 mqtt. Had no issue it's perfect.

Good product, good quality, good documentation would recommend

Denis | Jan. 15, 2021

Perfect product. Works like a charm.

Migrated from cc2531. There was some challenges during migration and I have to rebuild all network from the scratch, but there is no issues since that. Everything works stable and predictable. This is just a magic to use it after cc2531.

Wojciech | Jan. 15, 2021

Great device for home automation

Very nice built and shipped surprisingly quickly given the current... situation. The documentation covered everything I needed and the stick works flawlessly since the setup!

Matthew | Jan. 15, 2021

Excellent device, great price and a fantastic seller

I purchased this device to replace my cc2531 as my zigbee network was starting to get too large for it to handle. This device is excellent, flashing it with the firmware is a little tricky but the seller was fantastic in his communication to help out! The signal range for me isn't any better than the cc2531 (which had an external antenna too) however the reliability of the devices is greatly improved and the response time is slightly faster. I love this device and would highly reccomend it to anybody! I use this device plugged into my Intel NUC running Proxmox with Home Assistant VM for my automations.

Andrei | Jan. 15, 2021

Everything fast

Fast delivery
Good packing
Easy to follow documentation for fast setup
Product working as expected with Home Assistant

Evan | Jan. 14, 2021

Excellent little stick

This arrived quickly and was a breeze to set up. Documentation was clear and easy to follow and once I had the necessary firmware flashed on the device it was pretty much plug and play.

I really appreciate such a robust device being made available for a reasonable cost.

Peter | Jan. 14, 2021

Great all round!

Great all round, speedy delivery, simple clear instructions for firmware.

Many thanks, will be recommending to my friends :-)

Mihai Adrian | Jan. 14, 2021

Does what it says on the box

Ordered the item after seeing it on zigbee2mqtt.io
Nifty little device, it's doing what it's supposed to do wonderfully. I am using it to control some IKEA smart things.

Tim | Jan. 13, 2021

Works really well.

I’m using this in Zigbee2mqtt. Works like a charm, much better than my old zigbee setup that’s for sure.

Robin | Jan. 13, 2021

Quick shipping, product works as advertised, recommended

Using it for a fairly large Zigbee network, spanning a 3 story house. Quality is much improved compared to older dongles.

Jaap | Jan. 11, 2021

My ZZH has been running for a few weeks now, all is fine.

I am using this stick for Zigbee2MQTT, running on Homeassistant. It took me a lot of work to get this running. But that is what the christmas holiday is for! Took a while to get the stick ( 10 days), but I guess it's related to the busy delivery services. In the end all is well, all my Zigbee devices have been connected for a few weeks now. No isssues.

Tomas | Jan. 11, 2021

Well documented

I was amazed by quality of documentation for this stick. It covered exactly use cases I needed, therefore I saved me lot of time experimenting.
The only hard times I had was to convince Home Assistant Zigbee2MQTT to connect this stick. But after 4 hours of experimenting with different /dev/ttyWhatever, it started to work (don't know how).

Vadim | Jan. 11, 2021

great device!

Excellent device, perfect for zigbee coordinator role. Easy to setup, good documentation, very reliable in operation.

Minghui | Jan. 10, 2021

非常实用

Klas | Jan. 8, 2021

Finally - no glitches...

I have been using a Conbee stick for quite some time for home automation and every now and then a light/socket/switch would lose connection to the network and stop working (until I have done a power-off/power-on). This is extremely annoying and not a good thing for family acceptance of home automation....

After switching to this stick all these problems seems to be gone and it also seems to be "snappier" in response!

I am very satisfied with this stick.

Ricardo | Jan. 8, 2021

overall the experience was good

Great product!!! Using it with zigbee2mqtt and domoticz. everything went good using the supplied documentation when flashing with coordinator firmware. recommended.

Mario | Jan. 8, 2021

really good service and good device, thanks!

Got my zzh shipped in 2 days, really good service!
Documentation is fantastic.
For Home Assistant OS user + zigbee2mqtt: the usb device in the documentation is indeed right (on rpi4) . The device from the host in mapped in the containter as /dev/ttyUSB0 by docker, even if it has another name in the host.
Thanks!
And I have a lama head instead my laptop windows logo now :-D

Baptiste | Jan. 6, 2021

Easy to setup - great performances

I use it with Zigbee2MQTT and Aqara devices. It works flawlessly for more than a month now. The range is great. Every zigbee device has been responsive, no more latency with door sensors for example. I also tried ZHA with Home Assistant but I prefer using Zigbee2MQTT to keep things separated. I would recommend it for zigbee networks with 10 to 50 devices without a doubt. I can’t tell for bigger networks as I didn’t test it.

Remko | Jan. 6, 2021

Seems to work great, fast and range is good.

PostNL delayed the package for about 4 weeks, no blame to Electrolama, he even send us a mail about the problems with PostNL.

Just tested with 24 devices it seems to work more responsive and a good range.

Seid | Jan. 6, 2021

Fantastic service!

I had a issue where the first package was lost by the danish postal service. When I contacted Omer, he was VERY serviceminded and helped me shipping a new device over to me. So can only recommend purchasing from here!

James | Jan. 6, 2021

Better than CC2531

Stronger signal than CC2531, better link quality. Faster response to commands sent. Neat case, better than bare CC2531. Good communication from seller. Recommended👍

Andy | Jan. 6, 2021

Could not be better

Absolutely great little stick. I'm using it for Zigbee control with Home Assistant and Zigbee2MQTT and it has worked like a dream from the off.

In addition, the communication and shipping was excellent too - I really cant fault them for anything.

Highly recommended - actually already have.

Anton | Jan. 5, 2021

Awesome stick for large zigbee network!

I have purchased this stick to replace my CC2531, with CC2652 now i have stronger signal than before and connection for some sensors became more stable.
I am recommending this stick if you are going to build large zigbee network.

Melloh | Jan. 5, 2021

Great product and seller

Great product and seller!! Shipping to The Netherlands took very long but that was because of PostNL. The seller kept me informed about the actions he did to speed up the shipping process. I definitely will do business again with him.

Wouter | Jan. 5, 2021

nice product for a nice price.

Shipping took long, but that was to be expected with Covid.
ElectroLama did a LOT to help us, and was on top of everything.
good communication, lots of effort from his side, lots of work must have gone into the tracking alone already.

Jonathan | Jan. 5, 2021

Just great!

Best purchase 2020 for me! Working perfectly, great range cover. Not faild me once. Replaced my old crappy cc2531

Ralph | Jan. 5, 2021

Issues with local post, but good effort and communication

Horrible service by local postal service. Seller pre-emptively communicated and kept in touch. Above and beyond.

For the product itself. No issues and the manual is correct and extensive.

Would recommend.

Bart | Jan. 4, 2021

5 stars

Awesome product and from a friendly seller who offers a lot of support and customer service for his product.
Shipping took a while but that was due to PostNL.

Igor | Jan. 3, 2021

Excellent

Very good product. Shipping was ok, considering pandemic and brexit. Stick works ok, I am controlling about 30 zigbee devices via zigbee2mqtt and home assistant. Flashing was easy. In conclusion, I woul recommend this stick to anybody.

Armando | Jan. 3, 2021

Great product overall!

I received my zzh without a problem! The documentation is easy to follow, and I was able to add zigbee protocol to my domoticz automation system

Nathan | Jan. 3, 2021

Perfect partner for Zigbee2MQTT

Infinitely better than the cheap $5 USB dongle and proven more reliable than the Conbee II. Well worth it.

Rob | Jan. 3, 2021

Got it working after issues with shipping and integration

Shipping to the Netherlands in the Christmas period was a big issue because of the Dutch postal services being completely overloaded by the number of shipments during because of Christmas and the lock-down in the Netherlands.

Electrolama has spent a lot of time to investigate why the shipments didn't arrive and advised me (and about 110 others) on the best way for reaching out to the Dutch postal services (PostNL). A big thank you for that! After Christmas, PostNL finally found time to catch up and about 3.5 weeks after arrival in the Netherlands, the package arrived in my mail box.

Programming the USB stick with the Z-stack 3.x.0 firmware was easy, but then a 2-day challenge started for the replacement of our Ikea Tradfri hub by the RF stick. It would have been great if the Z-stack software would give some kind of feedback when being inserted into a USB port and when pairing is permitted. It took a full day to discover that the ZHA integration wasn't working for me. Probably because I couldn't find a way to specify MQTT credentials. Eventually I ended up using the Zigbee2MQTT add-on. Only then I started seeing MQTT messages coming in by using MQTT Explorer.

It took quite some attempts to pair my Ikea light bulbs, Zigbee repeater and Fyrtur cover with the RF stick. Resetting the bulbs with the six times off/on sequence and restarting Home Assistant did the trick. But it took many attempts to successfully complete the Zigbee interviewing process. The pairing started working better when I moved the bulbs a bit further away from the RF stick's antenna during the pairing sequence. About 15 cm instead of 5 cm.

It wasn't easy, but it looks like everything is working fine now. Now it's time to slowly start expanding my Zigbee network with additional devices without having to buy additional brand-specific gateways.

David | Jan. 3, 2021

Better than my old cc2531

Better range with the antenna and more devices without reconnection. I use it with home assistant/zigbee2mqtt on a rpi4

Dennis | Jan. 2, 2021

Zigbeestick on steriods

Great upgrade from my old c2530 stick, my 50+ devices all stay connected now and since installation everything works like it suppose to work. The support is awesome since we (dutchies) have a little trouble receiving packages from postnl and Omer let us all know what he did to help.

Great little stick

J | Jan. 1, 2021

Perfect product

Zzh! stick looks well designed and works as described in the complete and clear documentation.
It was shipped a couple of days after order, as indicated.
Unfortunately dutch postal service PostNL caused a shipping delay of almost 5 weeks, but this was completely out of Electrolama's control and Electrolama went out of his way to try getting the delivery process unstuck and provided fast replies after inquiry, as well as regular updates.

Mark | Jan. 1, 2021

Awesome product - Delayed due to PostNL - Good communication

Yesterday, 31 December, I finally received my zzh which I ordered on 18 November.
However, this long delay was entirely caused by the Dutch postal service, PostNL.
The product was shipped within 2 days after I placed the order, and arrived in the Netherlands 6 days after.
During the long wait Omer sent two extensive emails explaining the situation, kudos for that!
@Omer: I hope that apart from all the time this issue has cost you, you don't suffer any financial consequences caused by people claiming a refund.
@everyone affected by this issue: Just wait, yes it is taking a long time, but it is entirely PostNLs fault, and eventually they will deliver the package.

The process for flashing the stick and replacing my CC2531 for usage with zigbee2mqtt was quite easy.
I would definitely recommend anyone who wants to use zigbee2mqtt to skip trying the CC2531, and directly buy the zzh!

Tino | Dec. 30, 2020

Works like a charm.

2 sticks delivered to Croatia in a week, safely packaged, with basic flash Led firmware. Followed documentation on site to flash needed firmware. Testbed RPi4, Z2M paired to dozen of various manufacturer devices like switches, dimmers, plugs, lughts, motion and door sensors. Range adequate not noticeable pairing/connection issues so far.

Raivis | Dec. 27, 2020

Very usefull and nice

Great little thing, works excellent.

The only hiccup was with installing the firmware. On first attempt it was not clear to me that I have to put the device in flashing mode (even tho it was mentioned in the documentation). With little tinkering I understood that the stick is not empty, but has firmware that blinks the led and so I need to set it to flush mode to get proper firmware on it.

A bit of tinkering and all was solved. Works excellent!

Mikko | Dec. 25, 2020

Quick delivery

Stick works like a charm. Easy to program and connect to Zigbee2MQTT ( in host machine) + Home Assistant (Hyper-V virtual machine).

Wojtek | Dec. 25, 2020

Does the job!

I had a CC2531 stick that was working fine but I read all the amazing reviews on the zzh so I wanted to give it a try.

It was easy to flash. It works. All my devices could be paired.

This is what I expected from it and I am very happy. Having only 8 devices, I cannot comment about how it runs under load, some of them are quite far away and they are reachable (they were also with the stick).

What really set it apart for me was how easy it was to flash. No need for debugger devices like for the CC2531, just plug it in in flash mode and you are done.

I recommended it to a friend that was getting into Zigbee.

Андрей | Dec. 25, 2020

Artsem | Dec. 25, 2020

Cool device for my smart home system

I was upgrading from cc2531, this stick is completely next level. I migrated yesterday, but I can see significant increase of network range, link quality values are twice better. Stick itself is well made, as its case and default antena.
Packaging was not very secure, mine was badly damaged, i've opened it with one finger, but device is really smal, so no harm done.
Shipping wasnt too fast. One month to Belarus, but this have nothing to do with seller.

Highly satisfied with product itself!

Karl | Dec. 25, 2020

Works great with zigbee2mqtt.

Works great with zigbee2mqtt. I upgraded from a CC2531 to this and it works great. I had to rebind my devices.

Reind | Dec. 25, 2020

Never received the CC2652

I never received the CC2652, the seller shipped it but local postal services messed it up. Seller did take action but could be a bit more pro-active in my opinion. Instead of sending out new items the suggestion was to wait until something may happen at the postal services and keep them asking why the package wasn’t delivered.

After more than a month waiting I was done with it (and the seller was done with me I think) and instead of sending out a new item they refunded my purchase.

Long story short, never received the item but at least I got my money back.

Maxime | Dec. 25, 2020

Response from Electrolama | Jan. 22, 2021

Hi Maxime,

It's a shame you didn't get in touch before leaving a negative review as we would have gladly helped you troubleshoot your issue.

We do test every single stick before it leaves the factory and for a second time through random batch testing before dispatch so if you'd like to go through some troubleshooting steps to see if the stick is indeed "not working" or whether it is a firmware/software issue, please send an email to support@electrolama.com.

Jeroen | Dec. 24, 2020

Great for home assistant!

Received the package in just less than a week (holiday period), so in my opinion that's really fast! Just installed it on my home assistant, the flashing instructions are very clear explained, and it connects even with the newest Lidl-smarthome stuff! Great work, many many thanks for it!

A happy customer :D

Simply Amazing

TLDR; Electrolama has a great product, great communication and fast shipping (DPD).

Electrolama contacted me because I derped with my phone number withing 24 hours. A Day later my sticks were shipped. Nad within a week the sticks were delivered. The documentation was well writen and easy to follow. Within 30 minutes my Home Assistant was up and running with the zzh! Coming from the CC2531 the differents is like night and day.

Richard | Dec. 14, 2020

Great Product and Fantastic Support

I bought this to run zigbee2mqtt with about 100 zigbee devices. Flashing the correct firmware is very easy. Just follow the steps that are included.

I am in a ~2400sq/ft house with the coordinator centrally located. I use all types of devices (lights, contact sensors, switches, motion sensors, presence sensors) and manufactures (Hue, OSRam, Visonic, Smartthings, Aqara). There have been no issues with connectivity, speed, or range.

I do think that I should mention shipping. I originally bought this device back on November 29, 2020. On December 10, I noticed the tracking had not updated from when the seller originally shipped the device. I reached out to the seller where he calmly told me the issues he had been having with Royal Mail. I then worked with him and purchased another stick but used the expedited (Fedex) shipping to US. The seller had it picked up by Fedex within an hour of my order. It was delivered within 2 days. I am not sure if every one will get this lucky, but I will say the seller is on top of it. As for the other stick, I will turn it into a router (router firmware currently in development) whenever I receive it.

Johann | Dec. 14, 2020

Amazing Product and Customer Service

Flashing the stick with the Z-Stack firmware was very easy. It seems to work reliably so far.

There was an issue with the parcel being misrouted by Royal Mail but Electrolama immediately dispatched another one so I didn't have to wait. Great customer service!

Robert | Dec. 13, 2020

Great device and nice tinkering experience

I ordered 4 December an it was delivered in the Netherlands at 10 December. Including sticker and candy!
I used tracked shipping due to the warning given on the website.

*extra tip to the already great documentation in zzh shop is to use numbered chapters to seperate the topics*
Before I started flashing and adding the device, I created a cut-and-pasted manual for myself.
The website is full of documentation and you need to read it carefully because all chapter names seem to be equally inportant and the same 'level'.
For multiple steps you need more sites so prepare a bit in advance.
Choosing your tool suite also has to do with what you have around. I wanted to build and flash straight on the target platform (raspPi3 with Domoticz) because it had Python3 on it already so I used something like this:
1. Check Drivers for CH340
2.Prepare Flashing using BSL
2.1 Choose Linux documentation
2.1.1 Download and extract cc2538-bsl
2.1.2 Install required dependencies
2.1.3 Flash zzh firmware
3. Install Zigbee2mqtt on Pi
4. Install Zigbee2MQTT plugin for Domoticz on Pi

The dongle picked up my Silvercrest wall socket almost immediately (10 meters apart through 2 solid concrete slab floors) so I'm very happy with the range and speed). I'll be able to extend, mix and use devices in the future and I am very happy with the product.

Atte | Dec. 11, 2020

Awesome!

The item was shipped promptly, in a nice bubble wrap envelope. Transit took a little bit longer than usual, but can't really blame the seller for COVID and Black Friday and whatnot...

The documentation on the project website is great, and the hardware works flawlessly. Needs new firmware flashed to actually do anything useful, but that's easy enough to do following the instructions, and doesn't require any extra hardware.

I bought this primarily for using Zigbee with Home Assistant, but the extra capabilities of the hardware should be fun for some tinkering later on. The software stack for using this with Home Assistant is great, so I really appreciate part of the proceeds being donated to the software author as well!

I don't really have anything negative to say... If you want to communicate with Zigbee devices over USB, this is the thing to buy!

David | Dec. 11, 2020

Fantastic bit of kit!

It arrived super quickly and everything just worked right out of the box. Well made, nicely finished and gr8 customer after care - could not recommend highly enough for Zigbeetomqtt users! I also got an Electrolama sticker which is now on my Laptop ^_^ thank you so much!

Stéve | Dec. 9, 2020

Really great !

I bought this product to run zigbee2mqtt in home assistant because I had some signal issues with the CC2531 stick.
The zzh stick is really great. I have no range issue anymore and the signal is fast!
I don't have a lots of computer skills but there are great informations to flash and integrate the zzh in Home assistant .
Moreover, I asked technical questions before buying the stick and I had great responses of the customer's service support in less than one hour!
Usually I don't let a comment following a purchase, but I really want to for this one.
This is a reliable company, with reliable products. Thanks to them.

Juri | Dec. 9, 2020

Works really well. Night and day difference compared to CC2531. Documentation is clear and on point.

Pedro | Dec. 9, 2020

The perfect Zigbee adapter for Zigbee2mqtt?

I started like many others do, with a Texas Instruments CC2531 on a USB stick, and that was good, but it crashed a lot and forced me to regularly reflash it.

I then moved to the LAUNCHXL-CC26X2R1 and that showed to be a real winner (especially after flashing the 20201113 firmware) but this is a huge board, even bigger than my Nanopi M4V2 SBC that I have it connected to!

Then I saw the zzh!, which is the same chip as the one I was using (and same firmware) so I decided to get me one of these!

Moving from one to the other was just a matter of changing a few configuration settings, as it completely restored the automatic backup from one adapter to the other with no issues at all!

The only complaint I have is of the time it took from the confirmation of postage to actually receiving the item, but overall, I'm quite happy with this adapter and I do recommend it to everyone using Zigbee2mqtt!

Erinc | Dec. 8, 2020

Amazing Product

Great product overall. Works flawlessly with my Home Assistant setup. Documentation steps are quite clear on how to flash the device. Would highly recommend it to anyone.

Wj | Dec. 8, 2020

Got it (quick), flashed it and runs within home assistant

Got ZZH to be able to connect zigbee stuff to my home assistant.
And it's working like a charme, got my first sensors running!
Next on the agenda will be to look into connecting Hue and IKEA stuff directly through the zigbee2MQTT option instead of the respective bridges.

Looking back I can say the documentation is clear and precise.
Where I did have a bit of difficulty?
- Flashing via laptop will deliver the same result as flashing from linux....!
- Figuring out which firmware to flash (turns out it's clearly documented in the ZIGBEE2MQTT chapter)
-- Tip to self: RTFM (and read it from beginning to the end)
- Figuring out how to get python and pip running and reachable on my laptop
-- Python was already installed but in an unexpected location, within my user directory under appdata/local/programs....
-- Long time since I last used the command prompt in windows... (Some of the MSdos stuff eventually did come back to me)

Everything OK!

The package was delivered quickly. In addition to the CC2652 Stick, the package contained a nice accesory (candy) :). Stick was delivered with a pre-programmed test program blinking LED. I bought it as replacement for CC2531. I easly flashed and ran it. Very good documentation. Works noticeably faster than CC2531. Thanks.

Csaba | Dec. 6, 2020

Above expectations

This is a really great product. I'm using it with zigbee2mqtt without any issues. It can easily handle and manage more than 83 zigbee devices.

Iain | Dec. 6, 2020

Superb product and excellent support

Absolutely love this device. Packaged extremely well and very well made. The instructions for flashing for use with zigbee2mqqt for homeassistant use were excellent. I had a little permissions problem using a raspberry pi and sent a support request which was answered very quickly but by then I had tried the windows option which was remarkably easy and sorted my issues. This was something specific to my system but great to know the support is there.

Performance wise I’m picking up a zigbee signal from a sonoff sensor in a freezer at -20 at the very opposite corner of the house and one floor away, it can’t get better than that really!

P | Dec. 6, 2020

Works fine.

No problem to get the stick programmed and to get it working for my Domoticz configuration.
Recommended.

Peter | Dec. 6, 2020

Works fine as zigbee coordinator

Using it with zigbee2mqtt, bought to replace a CC2531 that seemed to be struggling. Took 2 goes at flashing it before it worked, but after that re-paired all my devices and everything works well. Nice that you don't need any other hardware to flash it, which probably makes it cheaper than a 2531 in the long run.

Robert | Dec. 5, 2020

Quick delivery and works as described

Setup with a Raspberry Pi and working well.
Documentation was quite easy to follow to setup, would be good to offer with an option to come pre-flashed though.

Krzysztof | Dec. 4, 2020

Everything in order

Works as expected, flashed without any difficulties. Improved range and responsiveness of my ZB network over the CC2531 which is now used as a repeater :)

Daniel | Dec. 4, 2020

Great product for zigbee2mqtt and Home Assistant

Well put together stick, using as a coordinator for zigbee2mqtt.io hooked into home assistant core.

I've Ikea / Hue lights, Ikea blinds, xiaomi sensors and some generic smartplugs connected up, over 30 devices in all, no lag and great performance.

Using a couple of ikea range extenders which also work well to ensure there is good zigbee mesh coverage.

Highly recommended

Michal | Dec. 1, 2020

Excellent upgrade from CC2531

Migration from CC2531 was very smooth and with my huge mesh it return the expected stability back to normal.
I also noticed better signal range.
Still sometimes network is slow to respond or loses some packets but it might be SW problem.

Overall great improvement and I would recommend it to everyone.

Markus | Dec. 1, 2020

Great product and great support

I just wanted to say thank for creating this great zzh! CC2652R Stick. Flashing it is easy, it works like a charm and it has a good casing.
Had also contact with Omer directly and all questions got answered fast and kind.
Keep up the good work.
Greetings from Germany.

Great device and documentation

Used with Zigbee Home Automation. I flashed the firmware in few minutes reading the documentation. Everything is working perfectly. Thanks !

Bogdan | Nov. 29, 2020

Excellent product, excellent seller

The stick works like a charm in two different locations in combination with zigbee2mqtt and HomeAssistant. Also, shipping was quick and the seller is really helpful. Highly recommended.

Kai | Nov. 29, 2020

Perfect for Home Automation so far.

I've been using this little stick to build a zigbee network for my smart home installation. I'm using HomeAssistant with the native ZHA integration and it just worked right out of the box after flashing the zzh! stick. So far I have about 10 IKEA Tradfri devices managed without a single hitchup. Good Stuff!

Niels Rune | Nov. 28, 2020

Recommended product and seller

I bought the item to enhance my home assistant setup.
The stick works as expected and Omar has been really helpful regarding a few limitation that is out of his hands to improve.
I have discarded my proprietary IKEA gateway and thanks to the zzh! I have not access to much more customizations.
The item was shipped quickly but was slow to arrive - but on account of the postal service. Therefore a four star rating on shipping.
Omar was really serious checking up on delivery and offered a replacement shipping. However, the package eventually showed up after nine days, which is unusual for UK->Denmark.

Vaclav | Nov. 28, 2020

Perfect ZigBee stick

I have replaced obsolete CC2531 with this new CC2652R chip. Works flawlessly over long distance. A small sweetness included ;) Highly recommended.

Alan | Nov. 26, 2020

Great but

Really excellent bit of hardware, the real pain comes with flashing it for Zigbee use. The instructions are really poor, finding the firmware to flash is harder than it should be, and did I say the instructions are really poor (in fact plain wrong) leading to many hours of frustration. Started out trying to use Windows = no way, so installed Linux on a virtualbox. A lot easier with Linux but still the instructions were wrong, took a lot of playing to finally find the secret and it flashed dead easy. Either these need selling pre-flashed or much better and correct instructions provided.

zzh! CC2652R Multiprotocol RF Stick by Electrolama on Tindie (14)

Response from Electrolama | Nov. 26, 2020

Sorry to hear you've had bad luck with instructions, if you could drop me an email at support@electrolama.com I would be keen to hear where you think I can improve them as they have been working for me (I'm on Windows) and many others as well, going by the reviews below. Particularly interested in what you think was "plain wrong" and what the secret was that got it working.

Also, just double checking that you were following instructions at https://electrolama.com/projects/zig-a-zig-ah/ as there have been cases where folks were using other resources and complaining about missing instructions. For instance, here is the section from that page that talks specifically about what firmware to flash: https://electrolama.com/projects/zig-a-zig-ah/#zigbee2mqtt

Ole Alfred | Nov. 26, 2020

Good product, terrible shipping

Okay, so first thing first. I'm really happy with the product, it seems to be a good device and the documentation(online) is good. Got good directions about how to flash, which firmware to use etc. And device just works with both zigbee2mqtt, and home assistant. And others too, I'm sure.

However, the shipping was a slight hiccup(might/might not be related to covid-19), the shipment was at London Central MC 10 days, before being flown out of UK. With free shipping this is expected, but when shipping cost 14 USD, I think it should be prioritized.

Anyway, I got the item and all in all I'm pleased. Thank you!

zzh! CC2652R Multiprotocol RF Stick by Electrolama on Tindie (15)

Response from Electrolama | Nov. 26, 2020

Happy to hear that zzh is working well for you!

Regarding shipping, as you've rightly guessed the pandemic is indeed causing havoc with global postal services and everything is moving a lot slower than usual.

We are all very used to free or unsustainably cheap shipping out of the likes of Aliexpress sellers but the reality of it is that without the preferential pricing you can get at significant volumes, Royal Mail International services are expensive. While I have been trying to get better rates, it seems like even the accounts teams are overwhelmed right now as I have been "on hold" for weeks now. When this is all set up, eventually, I hope to be able to offer cheaper shipping options.

Kaspars | Nov. 26, 2020

Great for zigbee2mqtt automation

Very nice adapter, works with Nanopi NEO Air. Would be a nice option to order the adapter without the USB header soldered on the board and with ipex antenna connector. Also the current antenna header thread is too short if you plan to place it inside a 3d printed box and stick the antenna out through a hole - you cannot fix it to the box with additional screw... you wont be able to fully mount/screw on the antenna anymore.

Matt | Nov. 24, 2020

Great product, easy to flash, fantastic range.

As the summary says, no problems at all, a great product. Wish the shipping to Europe was a little cheaper though.

Dave | Nov. 23, 2020

Looking forward to it working reliably with homeassistant

Sadly I couldn’t get this to work reliably.

I managed to pair one device, but then when I removed it I couldn’t re-add it or pair any more devices.

I think it would help to provide a step by step sequence of HomeAssistant setup with direct links to the correct firmware to install and how to do it.

Also for debugging, a way to completely remove all stored data On the hardware and HA settings. It seemed to be remembering old devices but I couldn’t work out where.

I am confident that the hardware is good, and the firmware/HA zippy code will improve over time. So I’ll try it again in a few months.

But for now I feel I’ve already wasted too much of my life trying to pair Bluetooth devices.

Small note: The plastic shell Is hard to remove and gets in the way of the button which you sometimes need to press. So would recommend not fitting that until fully happy that it’s all working.

Edit 1/12/2020: sorry I meant zigbee not Bluetooth.

It’s now working reasonably well. My tip is to restart homeassistant if you remove a device from the network and want to re-add it. I assume the reliability and interface will improve over time.

Some of my xiaomi door sensors have dropped off the network without any apparent reason but the rest seems ok.

Thanks?

zzh! CC2652R Multiprotocol RF Stick by Electrolama on Tindie (16)

Response from Electrolama | Nov. 26, 2020

Sorry to hear you've been having trouble with pairing devices Dave, if you'd like to have a chat about a few things we can look at please feel free to drop me an email at support@electrolama.com (I can't actually see email addresses or full names on Tindie reviews otherwise I would have pinged you directly).

Re: Bluetooth, while the CC2652 chip used is indeed a multi-protocol device, the standard and ubiquitous Zigbee coordinator firmware used does not actually support it so that is why you wouldn't have been able to pair Bluetooth devices.

Caesar | Nov. 23, 2020

Definitely a good buy. Great product, great seller.

Excellent seller, item was shipped quickly. Considering the COVID situation it even arrived pretty quick.

Ordered a few pieces and it was a right decision, one was written with a wrong file as the flashing program does not check if the file is indeed a binary. I will rescue it later, but take it as a lesson to double check when using tab for autocompleting file names!

The others work as you would expect from a faster microcontroller compared the the classic CC3521. Using it for Zigbee2MQTT with about 90 Zigbee devices, in regular use I don't see any difference. Only during updates I can feel the speed difference. Zzh works with stack 3.0 so that's a bonus.

The antenna connector is SMA so if you want to use a bigger WiFi antenna (same frequencies) you will need a RP-SMA to SMA adapter. Using a NanoVNA v2 to tune the antenna to the selected Zigbee channel will increase coverage even more.

Ruben | Nov. 23, 2020

Works great with Zigbee2mqtt and Home Assistant

This replaced the CC2531 as a Zigbee coördinator, because I wanted more range and possibly more devices. Instructions for flashing were clear and the stick works very well. Also really nice that it comes with a case.

Bogdan | Nov. 19, 2020

Excellent zigbee router

Major improvement over CC2531, and the seller handled the faulty batch admirably. Highly recommended.

Andrew | Nov. 19, 2020

Works well and a brilliant service

The instructions are easily followed and if you have any problems then contacting support via email gets them very quickly resolved.

The product performs well and the support is excellent, prompt, useful and very straight-forward.

Awesome device, quick delivery and well documented

The shipping was a breeze. Device works as shown and perfectly with zigbee2mqtt for HomeAssistant.
The documentation helped in the process of flashing and / or setting up the device for zigbee2mqtt.

Tim | Nov. 18, 2020

Beautiful Little Device

This device plugged in, was flashed with the necessary firmware and was controlling my ZigBee lights in about 15 minutes after unboxing the thing.
Very well made, a polished little product. I've bought another one as a spare because I already love this one so much.

Jerome | Nov. 17, 2020

Good product and good seller !

Shipping has been quite fast and well packed.
Informations for flashing are available on the site and explain how to flash with different platforms (PC, MAC, linux).
Regarding the product itself, I upgraded my domoticz solution based on raspberry Pi3 and cc2531 dongle, with 40 devices. Before switching I took some snapshots of the signals strength of all my devices.
After switching all the signals are higher (I did not know the value could be over 100, even 200 for some which are at 2-3meters from the dongle) !
It takes time to re-pair all the devices (around 40 devices), but it worth it. I have even been able to pair additionnal devices which were not anymore accepted with the cc2531 (+ 6 routers).
So, thanks Omer for the good job you performed !

Karl | Nov. 17, 2020

Great little stick for zigbee home automation

Upgraded to this from a CC2531 and all is running well so far. Case and antenna are great additions and make the product that bit nicer.

Alex | Nov. 14, 2020

Fantastic stick for use with OpenHAB

Two things.

First, fantastic seller. Fast shipping, great communication, accurate and clear documentation, all the stuff you hope for but don't take for granted when you buy online. I would (will) happily do business with this seller again.

Second, the zzh! CC2652R Multiprotocol RF Stick is an excellent piece of hardware. I'm running a 50+ device Zigbee network through Zigbee2MQTT and OpenHAB, and it's rock solid. If you've used other sticks in any home automation setup you know the story: missed messages, dropped devices, unstable network, basically a giant pain with almost no ability to troubleshoot or find root cause for any problem. This stick gives the exact opposite experience, no devices dropping off (ever), ultra-fast joins, fantastic range, fast response, and all the other good things you won't find elsewhere.

If you're struggling with a home automation setup, don't think twice, just order it. If you're thinking about setting a home automation system up, save yourself a lot of headaches and start with this stick for your Zigbee network.

Sebastian | Nov. 13, 2020

Great upgrade from cc2531

I've used it to replace my cc2531 with zigbee2mqtt. Even if I have just 20 devices, cc2531 was giving some problems. Some devices would disconnect or would become slow. This zzh made a big difference. It works great. No problems so far.

Petar | Nov. 13, 2020

Great product!

I've ordered it to replace my CC2531 used by ZigBee2MQTT. I've not tested it yet but based on the other reviews I'm sure that everything will go smoothly.

Jesus Maria | Nov. 13, 2020

Christian | Nov. 13, 2020

Perfect and easy to handle

I am very happy to have chosen this stick compared to other possibilities. Very easy to flash, documentation is extensive and intuitive. Price is fair and there is a nice sticker for your laptop included :)

Yann | Nov. 13, 2020

Super !

I order it to replace my CC2531, and it's super awesome !
I'm using ZigBee2MQTT, with Docker, within a VM (proxmox), everything is recognised without any driver, working well with usb passthrough.
My ZigBee network is about 10-15 devices, I turned on availability.
And everything is running smoothly 😊

Mario | Nov. 13, 2020

Really happy with the product und service

Works a lot better than those DIY CC2531 dongles. Shipping to Germany was fast. Can recommend to everyone

Darrell | Nov. 13, 2020

Great Upgrade

If you already have Zigbee2MQTT on the 1st Gen or "old" receiver, this is undoubtedly a much better upgrade.
The LQI on all devices are higher, and the drop-outs are almost next to zero.

Highly recommended. A+++

EDIT: If you're using Windows; make sure you use the older version of Python; as the newest stable (as of October 2020) version will bug-out with the update script.

Dave | Nov. 13, 2020

Very fast delivery to Belgium!!

Ordered the CC2652R, received one day later a message item was shipped. One week later arrived at home in Belgium
Flashing the device was a little bit difficult, probably my own fault. The Linux guide didn't work for me so after a few times I gave up and did it with a windows machine.
Using the stick as a zigbee2mqtt coordinator. Setup was done in less then 5 minutes after i flashed the device.
No communication with seller only received shipment notification but 7 days later I received the item so no extra communication needed.

Robert | Nov. 13, 2020

A must-have for serious zigbee2mqtt home automation

I dipped my toe into the zigbee home automation integration with an inexpensive CC2531. That was a great start to figure out how "things" could work and what might be possible. However, when I reached around 15 devices, I started to notice sporadic longer delays and inexplainable instability issues. Since switching to the CC2652 in combination with my raspberry pi zero w to run zigbee2mqtt, I am much happier! The stick costs about 10x the cheap one, but in comparison to how much other home automation components are (RPi4 with SSD, wifi socket, homematic thermostat, etc.), this is certainly worth it!

Vojtěch | Nov. 13, 2020

Exactly what I expected

Not much to say, fast delivery, flashing exactly according given instructions, no problem since then. Seems more stable than previous CC2531 usb dongle.

Information for Dutch customers

First of al, i gave 5 stars for shipping, while i did have to wait for more than 4 weeks. Thats not the fault by Electrolama, but the Dutch PostNL company.

PostNL converted the shipment to a normal post delivery, where tracking is virtually impossible. They also scan the address and there goes something terribly wrong. For some reason they know who you are, because it appears in the PostNL app, but the automated process sorted it wrong. It took more than three week before they discovered that.

If you are from the Netherlands and want to buy from Electrolama, send him a message to take extra care and ask if can make a correct address label for the Netherlands.

Name
Address
Postal code City
Country

The stick itself is now waiting to be implemented in my Home Assistant setup. But that shouldn't take as long as PostNL delivery time.

Thank you Electrolama for being patient with me, made the wait a bit easier :-)

Samuel | Nov. 9, 2020

Just buy this

I replaced all the lights in my house (40+) with ZigBee lights had attempted to do zigbee2mqtt with a 2531 stick and had constant drop outs, connection issues, and frequently the whole thing would crash - as a desperate last hope I ordered this stick. Completely fixed all of my issues, my ZigBee network runs better than I could possibly dream

Rafhaan | Nov. 7, 2020

Great Zigbee stick

Great replacement for my CC2531 to use with Zigbee2Mqtt and Home Assistant (worth noting it does support the native Home Assistant ZHA integration too).

Flashing with the firmware was straightforward with just plugging it in and running a command or 2.

Lex | Nov. 6, 2020

Quality product

Seamless. It does what is on the tin. Instructions to flash are clear. Everything was pretty much seamless.

Excellent adapter and great support

I ordered 2 sticks in June, and they arrived quickly. Unfortunately I could try them last week, but I asked for help from Electrolama, because the windows programmer software didn't work perfectly. He wrote that I have sticks that are affected from the manufacturing issue, and two pieces of stick were posted immediately by Electrolama. I got them yesterday and they work perfectly.
Thanks for everything

Impossible to get it working on ESXi 6.5 Intel NUC i5-4250U

I come from a CC2531 controller running without any problem in Home Assistant in a virtualized environment (ESXi 6.5, Intel NUC i5-4250U). After trying to upgrade to Zigbee 3.0 with the zzh! it has been impossible for me. At some point it started to detect devices but then randomly stopped. The error: "Error: Failed to connect to the adapter (Error: SRSP - SYS - ping after 6000ms)". I have tried everything (rtscts: false, press the BSL button after connecting it, change the antenna for another with more power, USB extension cable ...).

Note: the firmware used has been "CC26X2R1_20201026" and also "CC26X2R1_20200925"

In the end I had to go back to the CC2531 and now everything works smoothly again ...

Krister | Nov. 1, 2020

Great CC25xx upgrade

Fast shipping, good instructions and works much better than my old CC25XX dongle (e.g. had very limited range and capacity).

Tim | Oct. 28, 2020

Excellent CC2351 replacement

I bought this as an upgrade from the CC2531 to use with Zigbee2MQTT firmware on a RPi4 running Home Assistant, and it's fantastic - there is a significant improvement in link quality with all sensors in the house. The installation was a little tricky - I ended up using the Texas Instruments Flash Programmer 2 software with the firmware from the Zigbee2MQTT repo, as for some reason the Python method wasn't working for me. Once it was flashed, I incremented the pan_id on the addon config by 1 and it worked. For the price of this thing I'm thoroughly impressed.

Zach | Oct. 27, 2020

Best Zigbee adapter!

I always wanted to upgrade my C2531 adapter to improve my 220sqm house with more than 50 Zigbee devices.

At first I purchased the CC2652 from Slaesh in August, after waitied for 2 months - the product never arrived.
I have bored of waiting and no tracking number provided by the seller.

So I decided to go with zzh adapter and give it a try. The purhase is very smooth with tracking number provided. I received the ZZH adapter in less than 2 weeks time. I encountered some issue to burn the firmware to the zzh adapter on my macbook. I sent them an email to enquiry, they are very friendly and provide information to fix the issue. Eventually, I have managed to fix the problem on my mac. Somehow, Mac doesn’t recognise the /dev/tty.usb* and I had to use dev/tty.wchusbserial14440

Overall, I am very happy with the purchase on zzh adapter. Highly recommended if you are upgrading from CC2531.

Timothy | Oct. 27, 2020

Works really well

Bought this to bring more Zigbee devices into the home that are not supported by the other hubs that I have, plus also bring different functionality to those that are supported but limited.. It works really well. Attached it to an old raspberry PI, flashed the firmware for Zigbee2MQTT and then installed Zigbee2MQTT on that device. On a separate machine I already have Home Assistant running plus an MQTT server.

So far in my 240sq meter house, with one Tradfri repeater I haven't had any problems with signal, and it seems very fast at responding. Totally recommend it.

10/10 Would buy lama again.

Everything went right, next day postage, got my package within 2 weeks (UK to Aus), easy firmware upgrade and boom Home Assistant picks it up (ZHA). Never had a more seamless experience in my life. Range is great, covers my whole apartment. 10/10 QT PCB and Sticker.

Jeneva | Oct. 23, 2020

Great stick, but more importantly a very professional seller

I needed this to handle a multitude of door and water sensors along with many plugs. Flashing for zigbeetomqtt is trivial especially if you’ve flashed its baby brother. It arrived very quickly in great shape even though shipping is slower these days. Best of all I didn’t get three emails making excuses and saying how broke he was and he even had to borrow money to buy the parts and here is a method to help cover the costs of a ‘reship’. Same base board, two different personalization, but this is the seller to use to actually get the product. I wish I had just waited till it was back in stock here the first time. Thank you!

Johann | Oct. 22, 2020

works great

The stick came packaged in a cushioned envelope. I made the error of putting everything together before I flashed a binary on the device. My bad, but at least now I know that the case is quite sturdy ;-). Following the instructions to flash was easy enough, once I read them on the packaging. Thanks for this great product.

Petr | Oct. 21, 2020

Serious seller.

After a pretty bad experience with another Tindie seller of the similar ZigBee stick, it was a pleasant surprise. Everything went well.
The only recommendation to this seller is that it should be nice to have the choice between zigbee2mqtt firmware already flashed.

Simon | Oct. 20, 2020

Great product, great service

Product seems to work out fine so far. I have not yet made a direct comparision between my existing CC2531 and the new one - although performance seems to be snappier. Seller was helpful, and reached out to me after purchase. Cannot recommend the product/shop enough :-)

A great little multiprotocol stick

Works exactly as described, was a breeze to get it running using Raspberry Pi 4. No problems with connectivity whatsoever. The form factor is great, the case is extremely easy to assemble (however, very difficult to disassemble :)). 10/10 would recommend.

zzh! CC2652R Multiprotocol RF Stick by Electrolama on Tindie (17)

Response from Electrolama | Oct. 17, 2020

Sorry to hear that you're disappointed, wondering if you've missed the link to the actual documentation though as a lot of folks have had great luck with it so far (as suggested by other reviews). For your reference it is at: https://electrolama.com/projects/zig-a-zig-ah/

zzh sticks ship with just a test program (this is clearly noted in the item description) and comprehensive instructions on how to flash a firmware of your choice is detailed in the documentation linked above. For your convenience, here's the direct link for flashing instructions: https://electrolama.com/projects/zig-a-zig-ah/#flashing-using-bsl

If you're still having problems after reading the documentation, please send an email to support@electrolama.com and I'll do my best to help.

Vincent | Oct. 16, 2020

Very happy with zzh overall

Everything went very well, shipping was fast, the packaging was nice and there was also a small Lama sticker included :D The documentation for flashing the device from Electrolama was also great, basically for every common platform and not e.g. only for Windows. Thanks!

Mak | Oct. 15, 2020

Great Seller and Communication

I was contemplating either buying this or the other competing stick with similar specs. What made the decision for me was that the seller responded to me. The competing seller did not respond to me at all.

Omer was always helpful, friendly and professional and even flashed the stick for me to use with Homeassistant and Zigbee2Mqtt. Setup was a breeze, just plug and play and re-pair all devices (unavoidable if using a different type of stick).

My network is now more stable and my devices do not randomly drop off like they did with the old CC2531.

The stick itself is well put together to a professional standard, delivery was fast too in the UK. I know that in the unlikely event there are issues, Omer will be there to help.

The other stick is very similar in specs to this stick and in a real world scenario offers nothing extra over this stick. Also if you want a stress free purchase buy this stick and buy from Omer.

It Works Flawless with Zigbee2MQTT

Well done product. It was easy to flash firmware from Zigbee2MQTT. It works flawless and has a medium network range.

Paul | Oct. 14, 2020

Excellent for home automation

If you are struggling with a Zigbee2mqtt or zig home-assistant installation not performing or dropping devices, this is your cure.

The standard CC2531 is just not up to the job where as this still absolutely crushes it. my Zig network has never been so responsive and error free, everything seems to be happy and messages get through everytime with very little latency. even awkward devices seem to be working OK..

I paired this with a CC2530 Router for backup but the stick seems to be happy driving 30+ devices all by itself.

Would 100% recommend this as an upgrade to any Zig based automation system

Peter | Oct. 13, 2020

Perfect

Perfect product. Support in Zigbee2Mqtt is sufficient now with the latest firmware. Reception/LQI is not the main factor, but still it is better than with cc2531 equipped with antenna. Built quality is on professional level. Shipping fast. Communication excellent! In my opinion number one solution for open source based ZigBee networks. Thanks a lot!

Nicely packed and work as expected.
Instructions are fairly straightforward and easy to understand.

Wonderful device, works fine with zigbee2mqtt

The quality of the product is fine. Shipping was fast. The documentation is easy to follow, to download the firmware and to make the device run. The integration with zigbee2mqtt was easy. I have to repair all the devices (12); the proccess was fast. Range is good, better than my previous CC2531 dongle (with external anntena). I can recommend the stick.

What can it do, and how

I bought the zzh! as an alternative to Phoscon Conbee II, which have a strange ui. But i dont know much about it. I hoped it had bluetooth, but havent found out yet. Home Assistant doesnt recognize it as a cc2652r, maybee because i had a cc31something before, and it didnt recognize the new stick.
Besides that, i love the antenna and case, which is included. But its new, so i hope its just a question of time, until i find more info about the konk firmware etc..

Maciej | Oct. 3, 2020

Works great

Much better than the standard CC2531, migration was painless, repairing *was* requred but all config remained the same.

Dimitare | Oct. 3, 2020

I love it, switched last night from 2531 and it's awesome!

I bought the stick a couple of months back but it was sitting in my cupboard waiting for me to find some time until last night. I did something that wiped my entire zigbee network config on my Pi4... school boy error but after having to re-pair all my devices I decided it was time to move on and put the 2652 in production. The experience so far is awesome. Range is far better and most of all lights now turn on/off all at the same time. Before, with my 2531, you could see light go on/off in sequence and sometimes even a significant delay. Also when you accidentally turn the power off of a light, when you power them back on, it used to take about 15 seconds until the lights discover the coordinator, etc... before you can start manipulating them. Now, it's instant. It was worth going to be at 2 am last night :)

Milen | Oct. 3, 2020

Good product, easy to setup and it works

The only downside is the occasional disconnects, I need to pug out the module and than back plug in for Zigbee2Mqtt to continue working.

Mika | Oct. 3, 2020

Well constructed stick

Replaced my old Texas Instruments LaunchPad. No problems at all, documentation is spot on. Shipping was fast.

Ivan | Sept. 30, 2020

Awesome bit of kit

After the hiccup with a fake component (resolved beautifully and communicated perfectly), the stick works great and powers my home automation setup for about a month now, and does that just fine.

Adam | Sept. 29, 2020

Great product

Using with home assistant and a raspberry Pi 4. Was simple to flash and set up with Zigbee2mqtt. Shipping was pretty reasonable speed even with COVID restrictions.

Max | Sept. 29, 2020

Works great

Fast shipping to the Netherlands. Works way better than the standard cc development stick. Better range and works well with zigbee2mqtt.

Visti | Sept. 27, 2020

Very satisfied customer

Has better range than the CC2531 that it replaces, at least I now get a seemingly stable connection to one of my outdoor sensors that struggled to stay connected.

Flashing of it was easy and well documented.

It may appear more expensive than the CC2531, but there is no reason to buy a programmer for it reducing the price difference.
(It is also a way more capable MCU on this board)

Timothee | Sept. 18, 2020

Perfect

Great replacement for my CC2531. Much more powerful, and improved range. I like the zzh. I'm looking forward for the next version with an additional PA.

Max | Sept. 17, 2020

So far its great

1) The quality of what I was sent was great. The casing is simple but nice, much smaller than it looks in the photos.
2) Shipping overseas went as smoothly as you could imagine
3) The documentation is definitely enough for two scenarios: 1) everything goes smoothly or 2) you have more than a basic understanding of every step. It turned out that it did not go smoothly for me and I didn't have a deep enough understanding to troubleshoot on my own.
4) The Seller was extremely helpful in getting me set up and was extremely pleasant to deal with.
5) Also, this product is quite popular with the Home Assistant crowd so if there is something that is beyond the scope of what the seller can help you with the Home Assistant Discord and Community is EXTREMELY helpful - if you are also using Home Assistant. I can't speak to other platforms.
6) If this seller made other things that I need/want I would definitely buy from them again - as this was a really good experience.
7 )Now that my ZZH is up and running my connections are strong (LQI's generally between 85-110 so far) this is really an excellent product and it is a major upgrade from my CC2531 and was much easier to deal with than the Sonoff Zigbee Bridge that wouldnt flash the Zigbee firmware.

Jasper | Sept. 15, 2020

Big improvement

Upgrading from a CC2531 to the zzh! stick improved my ZigBee network stability, latency and LQI values.

I'm using it in a home assistant + zigbee2mqtt setup.

Henning | Sept. 14, 2020

Awesome product and service

As my home automation with Node-RED and zigbee2mqtt grew over time, the used CC2531 reached its limits with the result that there were often delays or complete failures in switching operations and sensor readings, which could (usually) only be remedied by restarting the system.

The zig-a-zig-ah! RF stick works in contrast without any problems and there are no dropouts or delays. I would not have thought that replacing the router would bring such a big improvement, but it does.

Communication with Electrolama was very pleasant and the order processing very fast and professional.

I would definitely order from Electrolama again.

Gurpal | Sept. 13, 2020

Awesome product from awesome guy

Does what it says on the tin. Being able to flash the CC2652R with such ease makes things so much easier. Would buy again from electrolama.

Sammy | Sept. 9, 2020

Great product, tnx!

I ordered this last week after playing around with a CC2531 for some weeks. This one seems to be much better and more powerful. Flashing Zigbee2MQTT might be a little bit difficult if you're not that experienced with Linux. I attached a bigger Chinese 8dbi antenna and all is working perfect. The item arrived in Belgium within one week. Tnx!

Rob | Aug. 29, 2020

Awesome stick, fantastic service

The stick works brilliantly, so much better than the CC2531 I have. Flashing new firmware is (mostly) easy, performance is great, range is fantastic.

Now, I did get one of the faulty batch, as mentioned in the seller's blog. However communication around that was excellent, and a replacement was shipped without fuss.

The only downside is that the case is a little fiddly to remove for flashing new firmware. This is an off the shelf case though, and it's only a problem if you don't leave a small gap to open it up with.

Mark | Aug. 28, 2020

Using zigbee2mqtt? This is a no brainer!

I replaced my generic cc2531 stick with a zzh! stick.
Range indoors is far greater and is more stable than I was achieving before and has meant I can turn off a zigbee repeater.

If you are using zigbee2mqtt or want to use zigbee devices in your home automation setup then a zzh board is a sensible investment.

Communication was exemplary, summed up in a recent email by the phrase "as it is the right thing to do".
I would not hesitate to recommend both the product or electrollama.

Tuncay | Aug. 20, 2020

Great solid product including skilled and helpful support

I have bought the zzh board and it works like a charm.
After an initial hickup (faulty component) replacement parts were promptly delivered.

Thank you very much and i am gleefully anticipating the zzh-p board.

Angus | July 27, 2020

Great product made by an awesome developer

The ZZH! Is a great product with a genuine development team behind it. The device is manufactured to a very high standard and even when one batch had a problem which was down to the manufacturer being dishonest, the developer behind ZZH! Let everyone know for transparency.

James | July 27, 2020

Great product. My Zigbee never has never been so stable.

I have a moderately large zigbee network - 6 permanent routers, a couple that come and go (lamps on normal switches), and about 40 or so other devices. Previously I was always finding devices would drop off the network after a couple of weeks of stability, and the routers would have to be placed fairly close to the coordinator. With zzh, everything has been absolutely rock solid since it was first set up. Being able to flash the device without an external programmer is a significant benefit as well. I was back up and running with all devices re-paired in way less than an hour. I’ve been able to place the routers where it’s convenient rather than where I can get a signal, and all of them are able to connect directly to the coordinator, which wasn’t possible before.

Professional shop, boards solid and working like charm

Bought Zoe PoE and zzh! to cover smart home installs at two locations.
Package was well packed, shipping was super fast within 4 days to Central Europe.
Communication with Omer was excellent, before, during and after the purchase. Even if some of the devices were f**ked up at manufacturing plant, he initially handled the situation and kept all customers informed and exchange was managed.

Took some time for me to find time to unpack, solder (zoe) and install - now it's done and it works awesome !
Thanks to detailed documentation and easy flashing.

Since the chip is capable of more features and protocols than zigbee, it would be great, so see a firmware offering these as well :)

I also can highly recommend anyone to do business with this shop owner.

Arno | July 26, 2020

perfect for zigbee2mqtt

Had the CC2531 adapter with a lot of devices but devices were randomly falling of the network. so the network was not stable. also pairing new devices was a nightmare after a number of devices - no log at all and i had to reflash the adapter to make it happen again.
since the new zzh! adapter i had zero problems and the network is super stable. pairing new devices work all the time. everything is rock solid and i am glad i ordered the stick.

Kirk | July 26, 2020

A seller who stands behind his product

I appreciate the proactive communication from the seller regarding problems with a particular batch and plans to address that issue. In addition, he sent a replacement at no additional cost for a shipment that never arrived. Replacement arrived quickly by the standards of international shipping.

Martin | July 26, 2020

Excellent build quality

Even though I managed to get one of the faulty devices from the latest batch, I would like to review the build quality and how professionally Omer has handled the unfortunate situation with the few devices that had a problem. I will get my free replacement device any day now.

The only sad part was that shipping to Sweden took two weeks even though Omer shipped it quickly...

Friends with the ZZH describes the performance as awesome! I would recommend anyone to do business with Omer.

(Really bad reception) New device is working as expected!

(I bought this zzh! to replace my CC2531. The CC2531 has not the best reception but the main problem is the very limited number of devices that it handles. So I decided to buy a CC2652 which should be better. But the zzh! is even worse considering the reception. I tried to get it working - changed the position, changed direction of the antenna but nothing improved reception. Finally I gave up and switched back to the CC2531. I am really disappointed. I cannot recommend this device, especially for such a high price.)

I got a new device for free because the old one had a faulty part - the new one meets my expectations. I really recommend this tiny thing. In the meantime I used an original TI- Board LAUNCHXL-CC26X2R1 which is a lot bigger, more expensive and has no advantages above the zzh! as far as I can see (at least for my usecase as a zigbee coordinator).

Thank you for your support, Omer!

Response from Electrolama | July 2, 2020

Hi Martin,

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with zzh.

I am investigating what appears to be a manufacturing issue with some of the zzh boards shipped in the last batch (sold on Tindie 20/06/2020) with users reporting bad RF performance just like you have. Everyone who bought a unit that might be affected has been notified and I will be providing updates and a solution as soon as I possibly can.

I hope you'll give zzh another go once we formulate a solution as it should perform significantly better than what you've seen so far!

Great device!

Arived very quickly (one business day) and very well packaged. Very easy to flash, and works wonderfully! Time from opening the package to being setup and ready to use was sub 5 minutes.

As another reviewer has suggested the case is very tight, but easy to fit to the device. The external antenna is rigid but can be rotated.

Jorge | June 3, 2020

Work like a charm

Works perfectly, was shipped quickly and communication with seller was excellent! Case is a tight fit and looks solid. If you intend to flash the stick often, it might be best to not attach the case.

Andrew | May 21, 2020

Great product, great documentation

Shipped quickly and well packaged, documentation was detailed and covered all the items needed to get up and running quickly.

James | May 17, 2020

Easy Setup and Works Great

Arrived very quickly. Got it set up following the online guide in a few mins and managed to get it working with zigbee2mqtt.

Documentation is great and having a nice case and antenna included is the cherry on top :)
