In-Game Secrets Guide

If you've been playing Gungeon for a while, you'll know by now that there are some secrets in the game. This guide will help you find the basic secrets.

Alright, so first off, you need to know the place to look for these secret rooms. Well, you can find them most commonly in chest rooms.

Now, go into a chest room and you'll see the chest in the middle, and around the chest, (typically) 3 blank walls. Now, before you go wasting your blanks trying to find a secret, the better way to do this WITHOUT wasting your blanks is to shoot the blank walls with a weapon of some sort. This weapon CANNOT be your starting weapon or a weapon with infinite ammo. It must be a gun with an ammo limit. Shoot the blank walls once (or twice) with a limited ammo gun, preferably a weapon that you don't really use, (such as the Unfinished Gun or something like that.) If a crack opens on one of the blank walls, then use a blank and there ya go! Secret rooms typically contain chests and pickups, such as hearts and armor or ammo.

Unlock The Bullet and The Robot

In addition to the main characters available from the start, there are two playable characters you must unlock.

The Bullet - Spare five Red-Caped Bullet Kin. These are rare, smaller bullet enemies wearing red capes. They won't attack you. If you encounter one, clear the room of other enemies and then wait until the red-caped bullet disappears. Do this five times to unlock The Bullet.

The Robot - First, befriend Tinker. Then, give him the requested items needed to repair the Chamber 2 elevator. You can do this across multiple runs. (Note, to get the Master Round, you'll need to defeat the boss without being hit.) Once the elevator is repaired, you'll be able to enter the elevator shaft and find the Busted Television. Take this item to the Blacksmith in Chamber 5, but be careful, because you'll drop the Busted Television whenever you roll. If you successfully get the Busted Television to the Blacksmith, you'll unlock The Robot.

Unlock the Blockner secret boss battle

To unlock the Blockner secret boss battle, you need to find the secret room in the Hall of Knowledge (the tutorial area). In the room after Manuel leaves, go to the room of the left and use a blank on the cracked wall. Inside the secret room, you'll find the Old Knight's Helm and the Old Knight's Shield. Defeat Ser Manuel and then talk to him. He will tell you about Blockner. This makes Blockner appear in the Black Powder Mine.

(Note: after you defeat him, his ghost will appear as an NPC in The Breach and he can also appear as a mini-boss.)

Secret tutorial upgrades

Tutorial
Enter the halls of knowledge which is on the left of the starting chamber.

Speak with the npc who will active the tutorial. Go about it normally and pick up the two blanks in the room he instructs you to use one in. You always get the pea shooter in the tutorial but you can upgrade it with a single blank later on. In the room before you fight the npc as a boss to the left is a room with books. Kill all the enemies and use a blank as there's a crack in the wall. Using a blank here will open a passage.

Inside the room is the old knights shield and helmet. These two items activates a synergy for the pea shooter.

New weapon
A much bigger version of the tiny pea shooter.

Ak47
If you go to the right instead of the left and follow the path it takes you to the AK47 weapon.
